Thanks for the info in z_prefix, that option is really easy to mismatch on a first read :) use PREFIX while building zlib for that. While building libpng, use CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS environment variables to locate zlib Nevertheless, is --with-zlib=/zlibs/install/prefix properly working? It would be great for some some workflows in, e.g. package managers if the hint for the install prefix of zlib can also be controlled via a configure option and not solely via environment vars.
