Gwyddion
Gwyddion should be able to read .al3d, .sur, and .x3p files exported from Bruker Alicona software. Try exporting your data in one of these formats as a workaround instead. If your dataset is a point cloud, first "convert" it to a surface dataset. In MetMaX, this can be done via Utilities->Convert.
