I only have deployed the SSl patch here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hermesmail/files/ I think the project goals were too optimistic and unnecessary from the start. As I have noted, my only issues with Eudora and the features to correct were: SSL, TLS (although I use Stunnel) HTML viewer UTF-8 IMAP (although I don't use it) That's all. The Aurora list of "fixes" has grown to much more. Too bad as I fear that will sink this project. Lastly, OATH2 should be added for long term future success....

I would immediately setup 2FA with app passwords as a backup in case your current setup fails. I also have my main Gmail account just forward to another Gmail account. I only receive emails from the second account and don't touch the first - all POP3. This way if there's ever an issue with the second account I can still access the first. There should never be an issue with the first since I don't regularly touch that.

Again, I have specific app passwords for several PCs and phone. That's it. Been like that for years. You may have to enable 2-factor authentication but I don't use the phone for that. If you must provide a telephone number, just get a Google number for free!

In my experience, both your statements are incorrect: I do not have OAuth enabled, been running Eudora and Gmail for over 20 years. Gmail/Google does NOT use my phone number! You may want to revisit setting up those app passwords.

I still don't understand this OAuth2 thing. I use Gmail POP3, mainly for spam control, have application passwords and it still works fine in Eudora. I also use my personal domain accounts with my hosting company (A2 Hosting) and, again, no issues. This after years being told we need OAuth2. What host are you using that you must have OAuth2? I do hope the team incorporates this in the Eudora release. I have paid for 3 licenses, having gladly done so. I still use Eudora, not Aurora, as I'm waiting...

Auth-email.com is not free. I will never pay for this! I still use Gmail with app passwords just fine. All I've been reading is that it will go away. Well, here we are years laterand it still works - oh, and with pop3 no less!

Like many users, I have multiple mailboxes open with their corresponding tabs on the bottom row. It would be very useful if each tab can have its own color, so it's easier to find and open. Impossible?
