Hi Bob my limited understanding is that work on Komposer stopped a long time ago (2009?) and is sort of replaced by Mozilla Seamonkey which is maintained and works in both windows and linux (Debian). So you could try seamonkey. I downloaded Komposer into windows today and found it worked but the Seamonkey interface is much better and i prefer the raw HTML produced by seamonkey which is marginally better.
