A feature request was made to create a product configuration bom sales configurator. The requirements for this sales configurator can be found at:

This functionality will initially be implemented with a Bom Drop type functionality that is customized to the requirements for this new feature request.

    HI William,
    I haven been trying and testing product configuration BOM in 3.7.0 ADempiere- in the manufacturing module. It seems to works, but I am unable to select options, as the whole master BOM gets inserted into my sales order. Any clue what I am doing wrong here?
