When checking out the project with svn in MacOS 10.5, the following error message comes up:

A code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples/hospital.pnm
A code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples/Makefile
A code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples/color.pos
A code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples/cave.pos
svn: In directory 'code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples'
svn: Can't copy 'code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples/.svn/tmp/text-base/SAL2.world.svn-base' to 'code/stage/tags/release-0-9-1/examples/.svn/tmp/SAL2.world.tmp.tmp': No such file or directory

Apparently, the cause is described here, at the end of the webpage:

You should only check out the branch you need, release-0-9-1 is a very old release of stage. You are probably only interested in trunk or release-2-1-patches
