Hi,
what's about a feature on the website, where you can read the messages, which other players or taxman/harold left you?
I think when the login on the website would have more features, more people would take a look at the site.
my opinion.

greetings, miasma

Hey Miasma and hi everybody! :)

That is a very nice idea! You are right, with the website there could be done many more things. We have a login area for checking your logins and changing your password, but I can imagine this login area can be used in a more active way. Let´s see how often someone logs in at the website... Thats not often, nearly never. Some people even really never logged in there because they just don´t need it. But what about making this website login area more attractive? You already said some quite interesting things which can be done there! Checking messages from the browser sounds very great. Especially when you are at a computer where you are not able or not allowed to install the game, it is a quick and easy way to check your last messages. Just login at the website and "Oh yeah, my friend messaged me!" :)

And there also could be further options to add to the login area: I thought of a small chat box, which is connected to the game. You can send other players messages with it and also recieve their messages, when they answer you. Also if another player has logged in at the website you can chat with him.

You may have a overview of your buddy list, who of your friends is online. Maybe there is shown if he is online in the game or at the website. The players who have you in their buddy list see a different smiley or symbol than the normal "online" smiley, so they know that you are online at the website and not in the game.

In your login area there may also be a list of the quests which you have promised to do. This is good if you forgot which quests you need to do.

There may be many many more things which could be used at the website :) If I get some ideas I will add them here ;)

I hope these website- login- area features will be added, it´s a great idea, Miasma! :)

    Best wishes and greetings from

@story-teller, please open individul feature request for your ideas because that makes things a lot easier to handle.

There are very different prerequirements for the different ideas. For example reading message from postman on the website would just require him to use the database instead of an xml file. Sending messages to players in game would required some life integration. And making the budy list available is probably best done by using the meta model.

I think that messages from npcs (harold, tax man and dagobert) could be split out and read separately from the player ones

Thanks for the suggestion, this request has now been implemented in CVS.
