Hi,
I am using Privoxy 3.0.6 in connection with TOR(-button) on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04).

I just wanted to change the Privoxy configuration to make it possible to use privoxy also without TOR, but if I click on "View & change the current configuration", Firefox (2.0.0.4) redirects to the same page.

So what is wrong?

    Your problem description is wrong,
    please provide more details.

I don't understand what changing the forwarding
settings in the configuration file has to do
with clicking on "View & change the current
    configuration" or Firefox redirects.

I am having a similar problem with Privoxy.

This is what I have posted to the Ubuntu Forum (http://ubuntuforums.org/) requesting any information as to how to get the Edit function button to take me to the user.action page for editing, or the Toggle On or Off feature link to function:

Privoxy - On/Off Toggle and Edit controls
Ad Blocker Privoxy on Feisty - using both Firefox and Opera browsers - cannot use Toggle Privoxy On or Off feature nor can I use the Edit feature to change the user.action file. I can use the View feature to view the Action files.

When I click on the Edit button I get this message:

    Privoxy Configuration access denied

The feature you are trying to access has either been disabled by the Privoxy administrator, or you came here by following an unsafe external link.

All enabled features are accessible from the main menu.

I get a similar message when I try the Toggle Privoxy On or Off feature.

Has anyone been able to get these features activated? Or is this something that just does not work with Ubuntu?

I have tried changing Permissions of these files, but without any luck.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks.

weedwack, you seem to be running into Privoxy's referrer
check which purpose is to prevent untrusted sites from
editing your configuration by embedding Privoxy URLs
    into (image) links.

You'll either have to enable the referrer for Privoxy
URLs, or recompile Privoxy without the check (bad idea).

Unfortunately the error message in 3.0.6 and earlier isn't too informative, but it already has been improved for the next release:
    http://ijbswa.cvs.sourceforge.net/ijbswa/current/templates/cgi-error-disabled?r1=1.12&r2=1.13
(Also note the comment about "dumb" referrer blocking.)
