if it where to use UDP it would need to send extra packages
to check that the data packages has arrived.... is the
ammount of net traffic to high as it is now?

UDP is not a stable networking, stick with TCP and you will
be fine

Definitaly stick with TCP. You can use UDP to do finding, but
stick with TCP for any serious communications.
