kMetal is a bare metal Kubernetes platform from Clastix. It provisions physical servers, provides virtualization natively through kernel-based KVM, manages software-defined tenant networking, and builds and rolls out immutable node operating systems, all declared as Kubernetes resources. Platform teams use it to deliver self-service Kubernetes clusters on hardware they own, with no separate hypervisor layer underneath. Each tenant receives a dedicated control plane, an isolated network, and enforced quotas. kMetal is assembled from established open source cloud native projects with no proprietary forks, and the clusters it delivers are CNCF-conformant upstream Kubernetes.
