Markdown removes the need to memorize complex HTML tags, and an ever growing number of blogging platforms allow markdown to be used for content creation. No clutter, no distractions. The lack of support for rich text is due to technical limitations and limited development resources. We are evaluating the cost/benefit of investing in rich text support of iOS.
