"Food delivery aggregator with grey marketing tactics" Posted 2021-09-19
Pros: Ordering, paying and delivery work decently well, at least in the Helsinki area. In cases of bad deliveries, the Foodora support has been good.
Cons: - Important details on costs of purchase hidden until the last moment, such as minimum order cost.
- Foodora is very expensive for the local businesses. Prefer to order directly from the local business instead if possible.
- Some features can be considered very aggressive marketing, such as the Arkku feature, in which you are given a popup with only a single chance to choose a restaurant from a predefined list and with a 15 minute time limit, and NO information on delivery and minimum order costs. This plays with so many of negative human instincts that I consider it borderline illegal, very unethical and generally predatory.Overall: The service works, but beware of predatory marketing practices. Very expensive for the restaurants, but probably provides good order volume.
