About World ID
World ID is a privacy-preserving protocol that lets people prove facts about themselves online without sharing unrelated personal information. The World ID app lets users claim, manage, and present cryptographic proofs, including Proof of Human, Proof of Presence, and Proof of Attributes such as age or nationality. Proof of Human is obtained through Orb verification, while other proofs can be claimed through supported verification methods. People use World ID with participating apps and services for human verification and access checks. Developers can integrate World ID into web, mobile, and decentralized applications to help limit bots and duplicate accounts and verify human participation. The protocol is open source, and available proofs, integrations, and verification methods vary by location and implementation.
