We evaluated Uptrends, Datadog, dotcom-monitor, CloudRadar, Pingdom, and Uptime and came up with our own solution based on the following requirements: Cloud-based SaaS solution, small and lightweight agent, fast configuration interface, a la carte pricing model, maintenance windows that work, geotargetting at the city level, all graphs embeddable, push notifications for any alert, process monitors with rollup, and audible dashboard alerts. At the heart of our solution is a small (2.1 MB) and lightweight server agent.
