Epic for Educators is a digital reading platform that helps boost confidence with real books students love, offering thousands of online books and reading tools for kids ages 12 and under. Teachers can use Epic with their class through Epic School, which gives students and teachers access to around 20,000 books during school hours on weekdays, or through Epic School Plus, which expands access to more than 40,000 books year-round, including offline reading. It is built to support every classroom with award-winning fiction that supports SEL, thousands of nonfiction books in STEM, science, math, history, and more, plus graphic novels, motion comics, audiobooks, educational videos, Read-To-Me books, leveled readers, decodables, chapter books, and multilingual books and videos in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Gaelic. Beanstack is an online reading-challenge and tracking platform that helps individuals, families, schools, and libraries track reading habits, organize reading logs, and gamify reading to build stronger reading habits and community engagement. Renaissance Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader is a digital reading-management program developed by Renaissance that helps schools, teachers, and librarians manage, monitor, and motivate independent reading practice among students. Students choose books at their reading level and read them at their own pace. After finishing a book, they take a computerized comprehension quiz via AR to assess their understanding. Each book in the AR catalog is assigned a readability level (via the ATOS readability formula) and a point value based on length and complexity; when students successfully pass the quiz, they earn points. These points contribute toward personalized reading goals set by teachers. Teachers (and in some cases parents) receive detailed feedback and reporting on each student’s reading behavior, including books read, comprehension, progress toward goals, and reading volume.
