"Not happy with this product as a student" Posted 2023-04-08
Pros: There was a help function on the assignments that was appreciated. Getting marks back instantly was a pro.
Cons: Program was always slow to load and not as easy to use as other programs.
My biggest complaint is the amount of errors in the text book and on the assignments and exams. It took me quite awhile to try to find a number and get through to support to be told that they don't take corrections from students. Which is probably why there continues to be so many errors.Overall: I would not recommend this program unless it added a feature where students could give feedback or comments on questions.

"Overpriced, but not as many issues as others" Posted 2020-11-23
Pros: Pearson feels a little bare bones compared to some of the other textbook giants, and their textbooks are just as poorly written, but on the software end, I've actually had the least amount of issues with them out of the big companies. They're simple and don't look quite as modern, but it gets the job done well enough. The etextbooks need work, but they're acceptable.
Cons: The content of the etextbooks is the biggest con. Like all the other textbooks giants, they're badly written and often have issues. At best the material is suitable for intro classes, but certainly not for higher levels of study. Often the etextbook by itself costs the same as the physical book and the etextbook combined, which makes no sense to me.
Overall: Out of the big textbook companies, this one bothers me the least. The physical copies have no resell value whatsoever, and the etext isn't worth paying for solo either. But it's got less wrong answers than many of the others. The software doesn't look as pretty as some others, but has less glitches and issues overall. It's acceptable enough on all fronts, though still overpriced for what it is. Still, if your department forces this one you, you'll probably have a few less headaches during office hours with students.
