"My Favorite SQL Server Monitor" Posted 2020-05-09
Pros: One of the best features of Navicat Monitor is that it employs an agent-less architecture. It monitors database instances over a SSH/SNMP connection so you don't have to install any software on the database server(s). I can access my server stats from anywhere using a web browser, which means that I keep track of my servers from anywhere, any time.
In version 2, they added a few new features that I really like, including dark theme and a new migration tool that outputs a zip file with all required configuration files and settings for migration my instance to another server.Cons: You need to purchase a subscription token for each server instance. This can be either a good or bad thing, depending on how many instances you need to keep tabs on.
Overall: While Navicat Monitor is still a relative new-comer to the database monitoring arena, it continues to add value with every release.
