Enterprise ops/platform teams looking to enable their developers to self-serve infrastructure.

About Massdriver

Massdriver is a self-service infrastructure platform designed around the principle of prevention, not permission. It empowers operations teams to encode their expertise, and your organization’s security, compliance, and cost requirements, into pre-approved modules using the Infrastructure-as-Code tools you already know, such as Terraform, Helm, or OpenTofu.

These modules become functional software assets, integrating policy and governance so developers can easily discover and provision them from a central service catalog. With built-in secrets management, monitoring, and ABAC, teams can manage multi-cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes faster and more reliably.

By replacing traditional, brittle CI/CD pipelines with ephemeral pipelines that spin up automatically from each module’s tooling, Massdriver frees DevOps and Platform teams to focus on innovation rather than maintenance. In short, it’s a self-service approach that cuts operational overhead, accelerate

"Great DevOps tool that helps me save a lot of time"

    Posted 2023-12-29

Pros: Massdriver helped us to significantly improve our infrastructure and DevOps processes. We managed to migrate from a simple docker containers setup to a fully fledged Kubernetes clusters with automated deployments and infrastructure analytics.

It has enabled our team to deploy various new services within minutes that would have otherwise taken us days to get familiar with.

I really like that I can easily see the cost of each service I have provisioned, split by project and deployment environment. This feature has helped us save almost 25% of our monthly cloud costs.

Cons: The team is doing a great job so far at accepting feedback from customers and addresses issues promptly.

In my opinion there are a few improvements of the platform UI that can help developers navigate and collaborate when provisioning their infrastructure.

Overall: Massdriver is a must for small teams that don’t have the resource for a dedicated DevOps team as it significantly simplifies and improves their deployment processes. It is also a great tool for bigger teams as it follows best practices when provisioning infrastructure and modernises processes by using Infrastructure as a Code.

"Massdriver: Only driver to navigate in right direction in a cloudy space"

    Posted 2023-12-25

Pros: 1. User-Friendly Design: Massdriver offers a visual design interface that allows developers to easily design infrastructure and services.
    2. Ready to deploy bundles: With just a few clicks, you can deploy anything, which saves a ton of time.
    3. Compliance and Security: The platform ensures compliance with best practices and security guardrails, making it a reliable choice for organizations.
    4. Cost and Health Monitoring: It provides cost estimation and health monitoring features, enabling developers to manage their systems efficiently.

Cons: Learning Curve: While Massdriver is designed to be user-friendly, there may be a learning curve for developers who are new to infrastructure-as-code modules.

PS: The only con I can think of.

Overall: Massdriver is a comprehensive platform engineering solution that combines ease of use with robust functionality. Its focus on compliance, security, and cost-effectiveness makes it a valuable tool for organizations of all sizes. While there may be a learning curve for some, the platform’s benefits outweigh this minor drawback. Overall, Massdriver is a solid choice for streamlining cloud-native application development.

    "Making DevOps Accessible and fun"

    Posted 2023-12-23

Pros: - Easily visualizes the entire cloud structure
    - Connecting MicroServices and Cloud Components easy with UI based connections
    - CI/CD integration with their custom actions is super easy to set up
    - Best Support I have ever seen
    - Cloud Cost summaries in the Canvas
    - Built-in best practices and compliance
    - Clone environments for easy testing and deployment

Cons: As it is a product in development not all Azure resources are covered yet, but the team is always eager to include requested features and packages.

Overall: It is an amazing experience building a Microservice base cloud infrastructure with it, as it handles huge amounts of the configuration work in the background (while still allowing all the customizations for advanced users or corner cases) and allows one to keep an overview of the project.
Also makes it a lot simpler to explain the architecture to team members as it is visualized in the canvas.
Have already recommended it to a bunch of other startups to help them improve their workflow.
