"Terrible company" Posted 2024-05-04
Pros: Good therapist that I'm working with. It's the only pro.
Cons: It's been 4 months and they have not submitted any of my claims. They have given me 3 reasons why and none of them make any sense. I have met my deductible but they don't know this since they haven't submitted claims. I had to submit my own claims and I'm waiting for them to be processed. I'm not paying them extra and they are threatening to cut me off from therapy even though I've over paid already and they aren't submitting claims. This is a TERRIBLE company to work with. There's no communication. You can't talk to anyone on the phone to resolve anything even though they can't give a straight answer as to what's wrong. RUN from this company
Overall: Headway is incompetent and unprofessional. They don't do their job and just want to over bill and take your money.

"A mental health site that will make your mental health worse..." Posted 2023-04-03
Pros: - Able to search for provider based on what I need
- Easy to use filter
- Specialty providers offeredCons: - Unprofessional providers
- No customer service number/human to chat with
- No response from providers
- Promises a service that it doesn't deliver
- No reviews or ratings on provider pageOverall: If I could give Headway 0 stars, I would. The absolute abysmal quality of their service is making mental health WORSE, not better.

I have attempted to meet with not one, but two therapists and have met neither. First, I schedule with a therapist who, 1.5 hours before my appointment, decides to just change the time without saying ANYTHING to me about it or to ask if the new time worked. It was during my work time, so I couldn't make the appointment. I reached out to the provider multiple times and contacted customer support. It wasn't until customer support got involved that the therapist finally messaged me back about why she needed to cancel. Had that been simply said up front, I wouldn't have sought out another therapist. Disappointed with this first impression, I decided to use the site again to find a new therapist. This time the appointment wasn't changed, but the provider never sent me a link, never responded to my messages asking for the link, and simply ghosted me. You know what's not super helpful for a mentally ill person seeking support? Getting totally abandoned by those you're PAYING to work with.
I've only successfully met with one provider on this site, and she's a psychiatrist who constantly changes my appointment time last minute or shows up 10 minutes late. I feel like a total fool for using this website, given that there are plenty of other online, affordable therapy websites. I have no interest in continuing to try with a company that isn't holding their providers accountable for their lack of professionalism, and providers who prove with their actions they have no interest in my mental health. -

"Great Idea/Horrible and Unreliable Company" Posted 2023-03-04
Pros: Pays every 2 weeks.
They will get you credentialed with different companies.
You are able to verify benefits easily through the portal, but they could be wrong.Cons: There is no phone number!
What reliable company does not have a phone number.
I am a provider with Headway.
I do accept clients that Headway sends me, but I WOULD NEVER subject my clients to the dysfunction at Headway.
When a provider has a problem, the provider sends an email in to a generic email at Headway. The provider could possibly expect to get a response in a couple of weeks, but it doesn't go anywhere. They ask you to explain the problem over and over again.
Even clients that have come to me from Headway have begun to express disdain/distrust towards them because of their billing errors.
I would stay away from them.
There are definitely more reliable sites out there.Overall: Don't do it. If you are a provider, this site will cause you more stress than you need. They are unprofessional and, in my opinion, they are not concerned with patient outcomes because if they were, the company would AT LEAST HAVE A NUMBER FOR PROVIDERS.

"Client Abandonment" Edited 2023-02-25
Pros: Ease of scheduling.
Accept many health insurance providers.
Relatively easy portal to access.
It's easy to find via Google.Cons: They have no phone number and no chat feature to readily get in touch with someone.
Experienced client abandonment - traumatic, confusing and unexpected cancellation of agreed upon, weekly sessions by their therapist.
Lack of communication from their therapist.
Poor service from customer service - they expected me to do the therapist's job and reach out to them.
Seems like the company does not do a good job of vetting their therapists and have serious billing issues based on reviews.Overall: I had an extremely disappointing experience with this therapist. Unfortunately, without prior discussion, she terminated our weekly sessions and did not provide me with any referrals for other therapists. As per California Code of Regulations, mental health professionals are required to refer their California clients to other providers if they are unable to meet the client's needs or if the client requests a referral.

This abrupt action caused me significant stress, confusion, additional trauma, and anxiety. It was difficult to trust someone so completely and then have them terminate our sessions without a proper transition plan. I received no support and was left to handle the situation on my own. I understand that finding a good therapist can be challenging, and unfortunately, I would never recommend this therapist based on my personal experience. -

"DO NOT USE THIS SITE" Posted 2022-12-09
Pros: There are no pros, there are no pros, there are no pros, there are no pros, there are no pros, NONE.
Cons: Horrible website, they don't care about the patients.
Overall: I booked my first session and when it came time for the appointment the psychologist never tried to contact me for our appt. I thought that this was a one-off situation so I booked again with a different psychologist. The appointment was confirmed the day it was booked and I had received two different appt reminders. Well when it came time for my appt this morning at 9am, the same exact thing happened all over again. Provider never provided a "location" for our virtual appt even though I had contacted them the day before asking for this information. This website is a scam and I do not recommend using it. I tried to give Headway the benefit of the doubt, but just absolutely HORRIBLE.
