    "Overzealous filtering"

    Pros: Before 2025, it seemed to work invisibly and effectively. I didn't even know it was there. Apparently my hometown government likes it well enough, because they refuse to do anything about it.

    Cons: There are a lot of legitimate sites that I can't get to, some that I've been accessing for years without issue, since the October 2024 update. Even though it's probably blocking some legitimately bad sites, I can't judge for myself, because FortiGuard is biased in their decisions and opaque about their criteria. I can only guess that at least 80% of what they've block my access to are sites I trust from experience.

    Overall: I didn't know FortiGuard existed before October 2024. Now I know it for all the wrong reasons. Ought to be sued for First Amendment violations.
