About Edison Mail

We spend most of our time in mail, often reading about innovation and productivity. Somewhere along the way, mail got lost. So, we set out to build the best mail experience in the world for mobile. Get organized with categories. The app's assistant will automatically categorize messages for you to make it easier to find. Like peanut butter and jelly, some things go together. Get alerts for flight status changes including delays, cancellations and gate changes. Monitor the price protection window on recent purchases and get notified if the price drops. Get the forecast for my upcoming trips in the assistant to help me pack. Get notified when packages are out for delivery, and view details right in the assistant. Newsletters and mailing lists you don't read and may want to unsubscribe from. Surface directions to the airport for your next flight or your hotel for quick one tap access.

    "No S/MIME support"

    Posted 2023-06-20

Pros: It looks fine, with all the bells and whistles that one would expect. Pretty much par for the course for this kind of thing.

Cons: No S/MIME support. This is a complete deal breaker for me: without S/MIME support this is not a good fit in professional settings, certainly not in mine.

Overall: Meh. Not bad, but there is nothing outstanding about it - it's like dozens of other email clients out there. Lots of bells and whistles, but mostly stuff that I, for one, would just disable. Its fatal flaw is on the the security side, by not offering S/MIME support. It's OK if you want to exchange emails with your buddies, but not good enough for a serious professional setting.
