About

We spend most of our time in mail, often reading about innovation and productivity. Somewhere along the way, mail got lost. So, we set out to build the best mail experience in the world for mobile. Get organized with categories. The app's assistant will automatically categorize messages for you to make it easier to find. Like peanut butter and jelly, some things go together. Get alerts for flight status changes including delays, cancellations and gate changes. Monitor the price protection window on recent purchases and get notified if the price drops. Get the forecast for my upcoming trips in the assistant to help me pack. Get notified when packages are out for delivery, and view details right in the assistant. Newsletters and mailing lists you don't read and may want to unsubscribe from. Surface directions to the airport for your next flight or your hotel for quick one tap access.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It sometimes works well.
  • With the snap package its impossible to attach any files as all you see is small square boxes, no names at all. I have contacted support a couple of times and they were no help at all. The program is also extremely slow at everything, will be trying a different email client from now on.
  • It was ok, it worked well enough in general.
  • I've tried a lot of email apps and this is far and away my favorite. That's why our whole team switched to BlueMail from outlook. 1. Very clean interface across all phones and computers 2. Includes calendar and zero inbox with a kanban board! 3. The new GEM AI feature is superb, especially for replying, it's just amazing! 4. Very logical Settings menu. 5. Easy to preview and delete emails including the clusters which is perfect. 6, Configured to download and sync emails for offline viewing for 2 weeks by default but can be changed. 7. Use volume control buttons to move forwards and backwards through emails (or disable this feature). Many customizable features. 8. Automatic dark mode according to my device mode
  • It is easy to install and setup. It is also fairly easy to setup folders and sub folders to organize your mail. It is also free.

Cons

  • They have a habit of issuing "updates" that make the software completely unusable. The latest adventure: Following an update last week, every time you try to open an email, a completely random different email pops up instead of the one you selected. The good: They instantly responded to email, acknowledged the issue, and said they were prioritizing a fix. The bad: They've aggressively made it impossible to roll back to the last version, so until they get around to that fix, email is essentially unusable.
  • Inability to attach any files all I can see is squares. its a common issue with snap programs.
  • Message window does not open in it's own window like you would expect. This is a single window product so using with multiple monitors is not an option. That was how it worked when I tried it, maybe they've changed that, I did complain about it to them.
  • The only thing I'm lacking at the moment is the ability to sort the inbox by reverse order. I know not many users use it, but I find it useful sometimes. However, with the BlueMail clusters, I am able to use a similar workflow.
  • I have found a few things that could be improved. If I leave my computer running over night and BlueMail open the next day the whole computer is pretty much brought to a stand still. A reboot is needed to solve the speed problem. It does not have its own spelling checker. Some functions are extremely slow, such as moving an email from inbox to a specific folder. Trying to get your pointer on the small sidebar to move your folders up and down is VERY difficult.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I used to like this app, and have been using it for the last four or five years, but there are no longer any 'Pros' given what just happened.
  • Worked really good , No problems with how it handled my email accounts but read the cons, NO TRUST ! normal people do not do business like this and that is why I just downloaded SPARK email !
  • It looks fine, with all the bells and whistles that one would expect. Pretty much par for the course for this kind of thing.
  • Nothing NOW!! Even Compulsory Updates of The APP want ME TO Upgrade to another Mediocre PLATFORM - AND THEY NEVER RESPOND!!

Cons

  • Just had the same experience as the September 2025 user. I've been using Edison Mail mobile and desktop apps for the last four or five years, and suddenly I can no longer access my desktop app. There's only a notification window -- with no Close button, so it can't be closed -- with an asinine smiley face and text that says Edison is switching to mobile-only immediately, Edison is removing the desktop app from the App Store, and Edison won't respond to any requests for support. The window can't even be expanded in order to see all of the text, which is insane. Although there is text that says "You can keep using it if you'd like, but starting now...", there's no way to use it since the window can't be closed and there's a error message in the background that says something about "wound". This is total BS. They gave ZERO advance notification about this. All of this is a complete violation of industry standards, but I guess who cares because standards don't exist any more, right? Now I need to figure out the implications of a company doing whatever it wants with all of my personal email, as they've done with this desktop app. Given this and the issues they've had over the years -- and I thought I had done enough research -- you can be absolutely sure they're doing some back-door thing where they've given access to all of their users' personal emails to train AI or some other money-making grab to save what is apparently their failing business.
  • Cannot Trust them if they close all desktop Edison emails without notice, I have 78 emails I needed right then ! they locked the page with a message saying sorry we are not working with desktop's anymore as of Now! I had almost 1 year of work in my account ! They say they are only going to work with cell phone users ! Even a F-ing 1 day notice would have let me get my stuff closed down .
  • No S/MIME support. This is a complete deal breaker for me: without S/MIME support this is not a good fit in professional settings, certainly not in mine.
  • Total BS from Support NOW!! :( Mail By Edison is now all but an AD Platform for its new xxx@mail.COM Email Accounts
