ERA EHS Software

Pros: The layout is clean out of the box.
It is easy for QA to generate new SDS versions and we need to create several each week typically.
Their plan is fairly flexible with the number created in any given month. It is looked at based on the annual average. The flexibility is good for us since sometimes we have surges in a given month.

Cons: I wish there were a few more options to customize the formatting. Also, the renewal process is a bit clunky. There is no clear renewal process of the existing plan just a reminder than the current plan is about to expire.
The price does seem a bit expensive for what it does but I haven't shopped out around heavily for other options.

Overall: Overall the service is good and I would recommend it. We have been using the service for coming on three years and haven't found the need to switch to a new option. It works for our needs.

Pros: ERA team is always accessible. Only need to send an email to get help. And regulatory database is very useful for SDS authoring.

Cons: Software could be faster. And UI feels old. But I have an easy time finding what I need so it's fine.

Overall: Very happy with ERA and their support team. Rating would be lower if looking at only the software, but the people make it a 5/5.

Pros: The customer service team is genuinely responsive and helpful. Whenever I ran into issues or had questions about compliance workflows, support was easy to reach and actually resolved my concerns rather than bouncing me around. For EHS software in a regulated environment, that reliability matters.

Cons: The UI/UX is the biggest pain point. The interface feels dated and unintuitive. The overall visual design makes it harder than necessary to quickly locate key information.

Overall: Gets the job done from a compliance and functionality standpoint, but the user experience holds it back.

-interface updates (which look nice) without notifying users - have to try to relearn how to use software/applications when this happens
-some important things seem to change in the background with no one at ERA able to explain why

Overall: Overall good for our purposes, maybe a little overcomplicated but it allows us to see potential other uses for the software

Pros: Good support willing to call and schedule meetings whenever support is needed. Very responsive and helpful.

Cons: Not too user friendly especially for the drop downs

Overall: Overall a good experience using this database, which some more features were available for editing products.

Pros: Incredibly simple implementation training program. The videos are also very helpful. Team communicates well and returns emails/calls quickly.

Cons: User Interface is a bit dated compared to other software systems. But very functional.

Overall: The ERA implementation team, the training's, and the calculations built into the system is awesome.

Pros: The material approval dashboard is easy to navigate and see where all product reviews are in process.

Cons: The Process flow for EDS Approval is awkward and time consuming.
The upload template is confusing, requires specific formats and is long to fill out.
The upload process takes 20-30 minutes.
The hidden screens in the EDS review for Manufacturer sign off (Data should load to 1 screen, review and sign off).
If an entry is loaded twice, it duplicates the formulations causing one to have to manually delete line by line (Extremely time consuming). Need a way to delete all and upload new info for the user.

Overall: I regularly use other 3rd party systems to upload product information for customers. This is the most time consuming and awkward system I have used.

Pros: Easy to use and navigate. Never any issues. It works seamlessly. All I do is add my information and get a perfect report every time. I cannot imagine trying to write my own air report or create an SDS. If I mess something up the team is always there to help me figure out what I did. Thank you!!!!!

Cons: None. It is easy to navigate. You can create your own dashboard with the stuff you use all of the time. I do not have any cons.

Overall: My overall experience is good. I have nothing bad to say about this software. It has been incredibly easy to use and helpful to my business. Thank you.

Pros: The online platform is great for accessing anywhere. Great online training tools provided but can purchase additional training as well.

Cons: Limitations on paying per document created for the less expensive options.

Overall: This was the perfect option to create these documents for our organization for price and ease of use.

Pros: Very customizable: content of each inspection, notifications, timing, etc. Integration with other modules we are planning on implementing (e.g., environmental, MOC tracking) seems to be very well planned in advance.

Cons: Some of it not intuitive and slightly confusing for completing each inspection. Seems to be overcome by training, and other parts were customized to make more simple per our requirements/request.

Overall: Product implementation team has been exceptionally responsive to our needs. Each time we have had a question, modification request, or customization issue, they have been very quick to respond in the right way. Seems to have gone quite smoothly.

Pros: Sarah has put together an excellent team of professionals who has been working with us for last 10+ years. As a specialty chemical manufacturer, we have unique requirements all the time. ERA-EHS and SDS team always come through for us in timely manner.

Cons: I look forward to see a semi-automated version of SDS generation method in multiple languages

Pros: The support from real human beings is excellent. Arezoo has been particularly helpful with explanations and flexible with my busy schedule. I use the ERA service to make SDSs for my company's end products and it has been used reliably here by others for several years.

Cons: Nothing that I have seen in my usage has been bad.

Overall: ERA has been dependable and helpful for my company for several years. I know I can reach out to a real person who can help provide me answers whenever I need them.

Pros: Excellent customer service. Every time I need help or assistance with anything, ERA representatives are always very efficient in responding. They are readily available to answer emails or to set up meetings to make sure answers are provided.

Cons: Sometimes there are glitches in the system, and I constantly need help navigating and finding things due to slightly confusing system.

Overall: Overall, my experience is positive. I've worked mostly with Alexandra and she's very amazing at providing information and help to me and my team.

Pros: ease of use of the product and professionalism of staff are the two biggest pros for me at Vaughan-Bassett

Cons: None really but I do get a new person taking care of our account more often than I would like

Overall: overall, a very good experience. I have been told VB was the first customer and we have always been taken care of

Pros: Being able to reach a Tech Support person when I encounter an issue. There was always someone available to help if I had an issue.

Cons: Some of the more custom changes I need to make for my SDS's were a little difficult to achieve but, with repeated help from Tech Support, we were able to overcome these obstacles.

Overall: Overall, everyone at ERA has been very supportive. It took time for me to understand all the customizable options in the software and, truth be told, I probably will call on them more in the future.

Pros: The platform is extremely easy to use, even for beginners, and the support team is impressively responsive, offering fast, helpful assistance whenever needed.

Cons: Some intermittent bugs appear in the system, and although they are addressed, fixes can take a noticeable amount of time.

Overall: Overall, it’s a reliable and well-structured database that greatly supports NPRI work and simplifies the entire report-generation process.

Cons: It may take a while to adjust to changes in the interfaces.

Pros: What I like about this software is that it is very user friendly and adaptive. One of the features I like to use is coping, editing and building new SDSs from pre-existing ones with similar chemical intermediates instead of starting to build the new one from the beginning.

Cons: I learned that it is pricey when compared to other software's in the market, but altogether it is worth it.

Overall: I have been using this software for the past three years, and it has been a great and simple tool to use.

Pros: Handles a lot of different calculations and easy to run different types of reports. Easy to update material data and input data. Lots of different capabilities.

Cons: Can be a bit confusing. There are tons of different ways to do things, hasn't been easy to figure out the import data function. System can be simple but also complex depending on how far you want to integrate things.

Overall: Great, does what I need it to in a fairly easy format/interface. This is a great program to mange environmental data and run reports specifically for what you need. Some of the interfaces can be complex, but with some training a lot can be learned.
