Pros: The DICE Approach is a comprehensive non-pharmacological web-based training strategy for home and professional caregivers of People Living With Dementia (PLWD). Developed by Dr. Helen C. Kales, one of a small number of board-certified Geriatric Psychiatrists and currently Chair of Psychiatry at University of California, Davis, DICE has been used internationally for over a decade to provide caregivers with a common-sense approach to Describe, Investigate, Create (solutions for) and Evaluate ways to reduce stress of caregiving and the PLWD alike. Originally developed as full-day in-person training seminars, The DICE Approach web-based training provides access to the methodology to all.

While the video training modules themselves stand alone, many professional organizations wanted to use them in a “train-the-trainer” mode as well as track and certify their staff have completed the training. Clixie not only provides an easy-to-use UI that enabled us to ensure that the sequential videos are locked until the video in order is completed. Other vendors may have a feature to provide some level of gatekeeping but not at the detailed level and ease of implementation Clixie offers. By building in these features, The DICE Approach is now available as a comprehensive and easily managed training program for clinics and professional organizations. Clixie’s toolset allows us to customize the training program to individual client’s needs. For example, one org may want interactive (graded or non graded) quizzes at the end of each training module and – using Clixie – we can tailor the training path.

Another major element Clixie provided us is the ability to close caption and even translate the audio of the DICE training modules to any foreign language. Since we added that feature, organizations and home caregivers in Brazil, Europe and across the globe can now discover the benefits of The DICE Approach and our subscriptions have grown internationally.

When we were able to build the above Clixie toolset into our web-based training, we realized Clixie had helps us get to “Phase II” much sooner and less expensively than we originally envisioned.

We’re already looking forward to implementing more Clixie features, like interactive drill-down content into some of the more nuanced elements of caregiving (interactive ability to click on items to bring in more content (researching information about medications, for instance) ….

Cons: No cons....WE have not had a negative experience or run into challenges with the software, support or service.

Overall: Obviously, all the "pro comments" above is why we would recommend Clixie but, in addition, their support has been everything we expected and more. Many vendors respond to inquiries and issues in their time, but Clixie has always been right there alongside us as if they were a part of our

organization and not “just a vendor.” I can’t say enough about this team and how responsive they are to the new AI world of content.

Pros: The AI makes it simple to create branching paths, quizzes, and interactive elements without needing technical skills. It saves time and turns regular videos into engaging interactive experiences quickly.

Cons: Some advanced customization options could be expanded using their xAPI, but the core tools are already very useful and easy to understand.

Overall: It makes interactive video creation simple, fast, and practical. Using AI to build branching, quizzes, and interactive elements removes a lot of manual work and makes the process accessible for any team. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to create more engaging content without a complicated setup.
