About Breeders Assistant
Breeders Assistant (BA) is a specialist animal pedigree, record-keeping, and genetics analysis application for Windows 10 and Windows 11. At its simplest, it is used to produce high-quality pedigree certificates and store all breeding records in a private pedigree database held locally on your computer. BA has many advanced genetic features, including very fast inbreeding calculations. With the extended edition, it can prioritize prospective matings in a number of ways to minimize the inbreeding that would result from the mating, to maximize the influence of specific individuals within the breeding population, or to minimize the loss of genetic diversity by minimizing mean kinship. BA is supplied in several versions carefully tailored for the specific needs of breeders of pedigree cats, dogs, horses, and many other species. There is also a generic version that can be used for any animal type where a specific custom version is not provided.

PedPro is an animal breeding and pedigree software product that prints your pedigrees and stores your breeding records. It is available for Windows computers. Initially, it operates as a 30-day trial version. After the trial period purchase a registration code for the full, unrestricted, version. PedPro remembers the details of animals previously entered and saved in the data file. If you've previously stored your pedigrees in either of these other products, transfer them easily into PedPro without having to use CSV/text import/export. Not all data is transferred, please check suitability first. Optionally include wrights inbreeding coefficient in pedigrees. Choose how many generations are used in the computation. Include photos in the pedigree, including selecting a watermark image to appear behind the pedigree. The full version of PedPro has a limit of 1,000,000 animals in a single data file. It stores the underlying breeding data so you do not need to re-enter it when adding new pedigrees. Pedigree Assistant is, in effect, like a very cut-down version of Breeders Assistant that dispenses with most features apart from producing pedigrees and storing basic animal records. It has a similar interface, though somewhat simplified to its primary purpose of producing good quality pedigrees designed to be printed. If you need other features beyond printed pedigrees you should consider Breeders Assistant. Pedigree Assistant is designed for single-user use, where the data is stored locally on your computer's hard drive, and accessed from one user account. Multi-user access of the type you seek is not available with this product. Support includes any updated releases that are released during the support period.
