Kenesto is much less expensive than enterprise PDM solutions but provides automatic file locking, versioning, vaulting, 2D/3D viewing, and web-based design review tools not found in consumer-grade cloud storage solutions such as Dropbox and Google Drive. The solution behaves like a mounted disk in the customer's office but the with a single source of truth in the cloud. File locking prevents users from overwriting each other's data. All versions of all files are stored in perpetuity. Using the familiar user interface of Windows Explorer, files and folders are arranged in the same way as one would expect for a C Drive. Kenesto includes tasks and workflows. A plugin for SolidWorks is available for no charge. All file transfers from the user’s local computer to the cloud are encrypted. All files are stored in secure AWS S3 and are encrypted.

    "Excellent Modern PDM Platform"

    Pros: Bild has been a huge improvement for our engineering workflows. The platform is intuitive, fast, and much easier for our team to adopt compared to other PDM systems we’ve used in the past.

    The CAD integrations work smoothly, file management is straightforward, and the overall user experience has made collaboration across our team significantly more efficient. We’ve especially appreciated how responsive the Bild team has been - they actively listen to feedback and continue rolling out meaningful improvements and updates.

    Implementation and onboarding were also much quicker than expected, and the support team has been extremely helpful whenever questions come up. Overall, Bild has helped streamline our processes while saving our team a considerable amount of time each week.

    Cons: The solution is a huge improvement from past processes so there are currently no downsides!

    Overall: Highly recommend Bild to teams looking for a modern, user-friendly PDM solution.     Pros: Bild has been a huge improvement for our engineering workflows, especially around automation and user adoption. One of the biggest benefits is how intuitive the platform feels compared to legacy PDM systems. Our team was able to get up and running quickly without needing extensive training or heavy IT involvement, which made adoption much smoother across engineering teams.

    Cons: Honestly, we haven’t run into any major downsides so far. The implementation process was straightforward, the platform is easy to use, and the team has been responsive whenever questions come up.
