About August
August is a UK-based property management app built specifically for small landlords who want a simple, compliant way to manage their rental properties. The platform focuses on compliance obligations, offering automated reminders for key requirements like Safety Certificates and tenancy documents.
A standout feature is its integrated August Intelligence which allows users to upload a tenancy document and the app then populates the property and tenancy automatically. It also provides contextually aware responses to questions the landlord has on their properties or tenancies, like “what was may void period on the property on Hawthorn Road”.
The interface is clean, mobile-native and easy to navigate, making it ideal for landlords with one to ten properties. Their tenants can use the app too. While August doesn’t offer accounting yet their website does indicate this is coming.
For self-managing landlords, August offers a lightweight, robust alternative to complex web-based tools.

"Best app for those who want to do it themselves " Posted 2025-10-24
Pros: It is so intuitive to use. I uploaded my tenancy agreements and it filled in everything! Market value, EPC rating, tax bands, compliance dates, even property-specific action lists. What used to take me hours and hours of tedium entry data manually took less than 5 minutes for all five properties.
Getting my tenants on board was just as easy. I can upload a certificate or agreement and send it off with the click of a button. No more printing or scanning. It is difficult to find software that does this much without being complex.Cons: They still don't allow to log expenses so I can't get rid of my spreadsheet yet. Also I wish they had all the calculators on the website in the app.
Overall: I almost got a massive penalty when my electrical safety certificate expired without me even realizing it. August picked it up three weeks before the expiration date and sent me a complete reminder with what I had to do next, so I managed to schedule an electrician and passed the test two days prior to the deadline. One of those notifications paid for the app dozens of times over.
