About
kMetal is a bare metal Kubernetes platform from Clastix. It provisions physical servers, provides virtualization natively through kernel-based KVM, manages software-defined tenant networking, and builds and rolls out immutable node operating systems, all declared as Kubernetes resources. Platform teams use it to deliver self-service Kubernetes clusters on hardware they own, with no separate hypervisor layer underneath. Each tenant receives a dedicated control plane, an isolated network, and enforced quotas. kMetal is assembled from established open source cloud native projects with no proprietary forks, and the clusters it delivers are CNCF-conformant upstream Kubernetes.

Enterprises searching for a solution to streamline operations across multi-cloud infrastructure

Audience
Clastix is built for organizations that run Kubernetes at scale and need to manage many clusters without the operational overhead or cost of hyperscaler alternatives. The best fit is managed and cloud service providers (MSPs/CSPs) who want to offer Kubernetes-as-a-service to their own customers without building that infrastructure from scratch. It also suits enterprise infrastructure and platform teams running large, multi-tenant environments who need to consolidate cluster sprawl, cut operational costs, and provision new environments in minutes rather than days. Beyond that, it's a strong match for infrastructure-intensive and regulated industries such as telecom and connectivity providers, finance, gaming, and manufacturing, as well as AI/HPC and GPU infrastructure operators who need multi-tenant, high-performance Kubernetes environments, and edge computing deployments that require low-latency, distributed control planes. In short: any organization that wants full control of its Kubernetes infrastructure — avoiding vendor lock-in — while still getting the self-service, multi-tenant experience of a public cloud.
