About

Stand out from the crowd with customized fonts, colors and a unique portfolio layout. Save hours of work by generating custom case study layouts. You don’t have to search for mockups again. Place your screens into desktop, mobile, or tablet mockups in one click. We’ll help you with writing prompts, guiding questions, and examples. Showcase interactive prototypes right in your case studies. Protect sensitive content with passwords and control who has access. As design leads, we’ve seen hundreds of UX portfolios throughout our careers. In our experience most UXers get their portfolio wrong: they approach it as a print designer or photographer would. That’s why we made it our mission to help UX professionals - like you - build meaningful UX portfolios and achieve their goals. How? By developing a tool that makes it easy for you to tell the story behind your design.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • - You don't need to have any code base knowledge to have your portfolio site up and running. - There are many different templates to start with, so you don't need to build everything from scratch. - UI is easy to navigate, intuitive and you can start building your site very quickly.
  • I think making portfolios is very time intensive and this product makes it easier. In the time I've had my portfolio up on UXfolio, I've noticed that they update it fairly regularly and the tools to set up case studies are fairly easy to use. I especially enjoy that the templates are updated frequently. I would recommend UXfolio to fellow UX designers.
  • I love the aesthetic and the ease of adding project elements.
  • I'm enjoying using this platform to build my UX portfolio. Its price is competitive compared to others, and its intuitive interface is minimalistic, which makes it clear to me how to navigate. I've been using it for a week and it's been a good experience. I'm receiving tip emails on how to strategically build my portfolio.
  • I love the fact that as a UX designer I have a platform in which I can build my portfolio in a short amount of time. I think one of the main things I like about UXfolio is that they have presets made for case studies that you want to showcase. The best part is, I don't have to use the presets either and can use whatever font or style I choose.

Cons

  • - Support is very limited: if you have any questions, you want to get some support via phone or live chat. They don't have it, the only way to reach out is email... which takes some time to get back from them. - Domain connection: If you have a domain from other places you want to move here, it's very very difficult... I still can't figure it out with many emails with their support.
  • I take some issue with the amount of flexibility allowed on UXfolio eg. being able to adjust the width of content in columns. Rolling out changes to the colour scheme of my portfolio has been inconsistent. There are always some spots where the background colour doesn't apply and needs to be updated manually. Allowing adjustments to a selected template should be possible but somehow is not - I can't add an image to a hero banner when the template doesn't have it. Adding background images and editing them is a bit janky, you can never be sure how it will turn out until you hit save. More UX methods could be available for case study sections. Preset tool logos could also be made available.
  • What I don't like is that I can't just add elements and create my own tables for example.
  • Some small features like the navigation menu and logo. I cannot customize my navigation menu on different pages; if I choose one design for my homepage, that's the one. Additionally, when the logo was added I could not customize the size.
  • None I love using it! I found using the entire site easy to use and perfect for my needs.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Workfolio used to be a good company. I had a website with them for six years and until this year they were easy to work with but they changed. I'm dumbfounded at their poor values when they had been such a good company.

Cons

  • Since 2018 I’ve been paying for a website with Workfolio and even though there’s been no change to my credit card and no communication that payment hasn’t been received, Workfolio allowed my Internet domain to expire causing my website to disappear from the Internet. Workfolio has been in charge of renewing my Internet domain as part of the service I pay for each year in October. Now, not only have I lost the website I paid for until October 2023, Workfolio hasn’t responded to my requests for information. They also did not respond to the Better Business Bureau who tried to contact them on my behalf. History of events (I also have screenshots of each email described below and a screen shot of proof of payment for the Workfolio subscription.) 2018 1. I received an email telling me my Internet domain was about to expire and I emailed Workfolio to make sure they were handling it 2. Workfolio support agent emailed me back and said I didn’t need to worry, they handled the domain renewal for subscriptions that were up-to-date 2019 1. I received an email telling me my Internet domain was about to expire and I emailed Workfolio to make sure they were handling it 2. Workfolio support agent emailed me back and said I didn’t need to worry because they handled the domain renewal for subscriptions that were up-to-date 2020 1. I received no response from a Workfolio agent 3. 2nd email: I emailed Workfolio again before the expiry date 4. I received no response from a Workfolio agent 5. 3rd email: I found out my domain expired and my website disappeared and emailed Workfolio to ask them why they allowed my domain to expire 6. I received no response from a Workfolio agent 7. 4th email: I emailed Workfolio and said I wanted my website back up and running 8. I received no response from a Workfolio agent, only automatic computer responses saying my emails to Workfolio were received.
