The dBASE® 2019 product has been OPTIMIZED to make development easier, faster, and frankly more fun! Whenever, you see Creature Feature, you know we have added new capability to make your job better. dBASE® 2019 release is focused on OPTIMIZATION of the entire product but it includes many great features for the IDE. We have also added new capabilities with the Compiler functionality. We have enhanced how you develop in the Editor. Plus we implemented the #1 requested component and finally we end with a general overhaul to ADO. The IDE is where the magic happens, why not give users a say in how it works? 80% of the time is spent in the editor, while 20% is in graphical designers. The IDE has been optimized with new and updated features.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Compared to Oracle DB, the customer's IT manager at a lower purchase and maintenance cost. You can feel the cost reduction effect while introducing it. It can be used including maintenance cost as a subscription without S/W purchase.

Cons

  • Lack of reference materials and technical manpower compared to Oracle DB. Large database performance of 70~80% compared to Oracle In the case of large-scale projects, Samsung Electronics proceeded with unit system conversion.

Pros

  • - It is very easy to set up and use. - It covers a variety of apps from your desktop to the web. -The table data view and the optimization of the query language are on point.
  • Nice - as an old dbase user, having the old code makes things easier. Programming is solid and works - really well. Tons of options and customization tools - users love interface debug is good.

Cons

  • - It is a very expensive app for small companies or organizations. - Lack of platform independence, it is not available on Linux and Mac OS.
  • Can be a pain to understand and get working. Reports are quirky - but once sorted out pretty good.
