About

Finally the solution to Email Overload! Text Lightning, Outlook Power Tools, enables you to clear your overflowing Inbox faster than ever before. Every message you send will be better written and more detailed than if you typed it yourself, because Text Lightning gives you instant access to the text you have used to reply to similar messages in the past. You need only think of the best response to a question once and then reuse it whenever you are asked again. All of the phrases and text snippets you commonly write in your messages can be added with a single click (plain text or formatted). The most relevant items are highlighted and any that do not match the current product or profile are hidden. You can also instantly add a selection of files, embedded images and formatted rich text. With a single click you can search all your past responses to a message or contact. Text Lightning will even warn you whenever you intended to attach a file but forgot to do so.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Wispr Flow is surprisingly useful from a developer’s point of view because it makes it way easier to get thoughts out quickly without breaking focus. I can talk through a prompt, describe a bug, draft a README section, write a commit message, or explain what I want an AI coding agent to do much faster than I can type it. The biggest win is that it understands developer language better than normal dictation. Project names, tools, APIs, frameworks, and weird technical terms are usually where voice typing falls apart, so the personal dictionary and developer-focused vocabulary make a real difference. I also like that it works across apps instead of being locked into one editor. Being able to use it in ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, docs, email, and coding tools makes it feel like a system-wide productivity layer, not just a standalone transcription app. The AI cleanup is great too. It removes filler words, handles corrections while I’m speaking, formats text, and turns rambling thoughts into something cleaner. For developers using AI agents, that is huge because better prompts usually mean better output.

Cons

  • Wispr Flow is not perfect if you work in a noisy space or feel awkward talking to your computer. Voice-first workflows are powerful, but they are not always ideal in an office, around family, or in shared environments. It also will not replace careful typing for everything. For actual code, I would still want to review syntax, formatting, and exact symbols closely. Voice is amazing for prompts, comments, docs, tickets, and planning, but precise code editing still needs a developer’s eye. The price may also be a consideration. There are cheaper or open-source dictation options, so the value really depends on whether Wispr’s polish, app coverage, vocabulary learning, and AI cleanup save you enough time.
