About

sshx is a secure, web-based collaborative terminal platform that lets you share your command-line session with others by sending a unique browser link, enabling multiple participants to interact in real time with remote cursors and chat on an infinite canvas. It is fast, end-to-end encrypted, and lightweight, with a server written in Rust and support across macOS, Linux, and Windows, so users can install a single binary or use it directly in a browser for collaborative sessions. The interface supports arranging and resizing multiple terminals freely, live presence awareness, and ultra-fast mesh networking to connect from anywhere. sshx is ideal for remote pair programming, teaching, debugging, live demonstrations, and collaborative troubleshooting, providing secure access without requiring complex setups or traditional SSH clients, and it can be integrated into workflows, including CI/CD environments for remote debugging and shared terminal access.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It is a good terminal program and I like it for terminal operation with COM ports. It is a good all round terminal application that is easy to use and reasonably robust.
  • Met my needs. I was connecting to USB devices over serial terminal on Linux I used screen. This is sort of a hyperterminal.

Cons

  • 1) Every time I start logging to file, the target folder defaults back to its preset path. That is annoying and the older versions did not do that. 2) Setting the font size is seems buggy as size 7 is tiny small and cannot be read on the output screen but setting to size 8 is at super huge and cannot fit the screen width. This used to work beautifully on the older versions. Where even size 10 could be used for the same output and fitted. 3) On Win11 it often seems becomes inoperative if the USB/COM cable is pulled out. It then has to be closed and restarted. The older versions seemed to just say "disconnected " and work again when the cable is reconnected.
  • Lot of menus.
