About

Line-by-line Staging. Commit Editing. Unmatched Performance. With a zippy cross-platform GUI toolkit, an unmatched syntax highlighting engine, and a custom high-performance Git reading library, Sublime Merge sets the bar for performance. Commit exactly what you want with line-by-line and hunk staging. Select one or more lines to split hunks into multiple changes. With the power of Sublime Text syntax highlighting, you can understand exactly what's been changed in a commit. With over 40 supported languages out of the box, and automatic loading of installed third-party syntaxes, we've got you covered.

About

A sophisticated text editor for code, markup and prose. Use Goto Anything to open files with only a few keystrokes, and instantly jump to symbols, lines or words. Make ten changes at the same time, not one change ten times. Multiple selections allow you to interactively change many lines at once, rename variables with ease, and manipulate files faster than ever. The Command Palette holds infrequently used functionality, like sorting, changing the syntax and changing the indentation settings. With just a few keystrokes, you can search for what you want, without ever having to navigate through the menus or remember obscure key bindings. Sublime Text has a powerful, Python API that allows plugins to augment built-in functionality. Package Control can be installed via the command palette, providing simple access to thousands of packages built by the community.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Fast, simple and intuitive to use. Since we were all Sublime Text users the Shift-Ctrl-P menu was very easy to use.
  • - This a very fine, functional and clean design for a GUI client. - Avoids over complexity and focuses on the important stuff. - Its pricing is based on a free version with all the features but the ability to change skin to dark mode, so nothing stops you to try the product, all the features for all the time you need.
  • Compared to other programs that just destroy computers. This one opens quickly and work efficiently. The hotkeys could be a little bit more intuitive but can be worked around.

Cons

  • Gitkraken has much prettier colour schemes. The light and dark colour schemes of Sublime Merge are very subdued.
  • - Is not integrated with other mainstream IDE tools but Sublime Text. Is not a big pain for all the users that don't like in IDE git clients and prefer to have a clean separate tool for git stuff (which I recommend). - Is not integrated with cloud git providers so you can't expect to interact with your pull requests (or merge requests) directly through the GUI.
  • No real major cons. This program works well and is better than Electron or GitKraken. Custom themes would be cool, but not necessary, price has slowly been increasing.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It's lightweight yet does crash often once code is ready for propagation. It was difficult to appreciate the terms when executing running.
  • Sublime Text is well known for its lightning-fast speed and functionality. It is a popular for rapid coding work since it runs quickly, manages huge files with ease, and offers a seamless editing experience.
  • 1. It is user-friendly, intuitive and straightforward to use. 2. The user interface of the application is well-built and feels attractive to the eyes. 3. It highlights the code in different colors, which makes the code more readable. 4. It has a search feature to search a specific class or function in the whole directory.
  • Sublime Text is one of the elite code editors that has all the essential features and is lightweight and fast. Sublime can be used for a variety of programming languages. It provides different shortcuts and plugins to ease the task.
  • - The syntax text seems quite attractive to see because of the different color schemes used in the UI. - The user interface of the application is quite attractive and user-friendly. - Syntax can be searched quite easily in any file or from the whole directory. - It launches pretty quickly because of the lightweight nature of the application. - It has auto complete feature, which works great for languages like Python.

Cons

  • Augmentation after verification is always required once a hybrid system is online.
  • Since Sublime Text is closed source, users are advised to buy a license in order to continue using it. For their projects, certain developers could favor completely open-source alternatives.
  • 1. The git integration of the application not well optimized and does not work properly.
  • More variety plugins could be added , Otherwise no con in the editor.
  • - It needs to be customized to use it to its max potential, and the customization is a complex process in this application.
