About

Stay informed with real-time news and insights from people you know, industry leaders, journalists, and notable figures, all in one convenient place. Spoutible is a social media network and an alternative to Twitter.

About

Verbatim gives journalists and newsrooms AI agents for research, monitoring, analysis and writing. Agents follow sources, search the web and public registers, read large document collections, identify experts, prepare interviews, transcribe quotes and check claims against sources. They analyze tables and reports with figures linked to source cells, and draft in a journalist’s or publication’s style. Agents work in parallel on shared projects, while journalists review evidence and approve final content. VerbatimAgent serves individual journalists; VerbatimOS adds newsroom tools such as a CMS, story assignment, work-in-progress tracking, approval queues and publishing connections. Workflows include reporting, investigations and data journalism. VerbatimAgent starts at €49.95 per month and offers a 14-day free trial. Content is hosted and processed in Europe and is not used to train third-party AI.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It’s like Twitter in usability, but lacks trolls, bots, and both sociopathic hate and narcissistic flash influencers—a hard mix to achieve in social media. It’s blue-leaning, but not extreme. As a centrist, I feel wholly comfortable here. Twitter is tense, Spoutible is calm. I learn something new every time I go there. #SpoutibleTips is great for onboarding, but it’s really easy to navigate, & people are helpful. I surpassed my Twitter follower numbers (13 years!) pretty fast; nearly every post is engaged with by others. Pod(casts) are fun & varied. More features than any other platform, and no billionaire owner.
  • It’s small and agile and able to implement technology change quickly. The CEO is good at communicating what technical changes are coming. The presence of bots is limited.
  • Easy to use, similar look/feel to Twitter. The lack of bots, and the quick turnaround in terminating accounts when bots or trolls attempt to infiltrate, helps reduce harassment. Very friendly, as long as you’re politically hard-left and renounce (or hide) any Christian religious beliefs.
  • I have been on the Spoutible platform for a few months. People get noticed there immediately and really get into conversations fast unlike other social platforms. People are friendly and haven't seen a bot in a while cause it will get banned immediately unlike other platforms 🤣🤣
  • Love the absence of trolls! Love the automatic numbering of threads, and ability to edit for 15 minutes. Love that "we are the algorithm." Love that people say goodnight to each other.

Cons

  • There is NO algorithm & it takes time to let go of the desire for dopamine hits. There are always immature users on platforms, but I’ve *never* seen targeted harassment, and trolls are banned within a couple of hours, so some reviews here seem suspect. I’m a psychologist & artist & would love to see more artists posting art!
  • Absolutely zero functioning moderation to keep site factions from harassing one another in their attempt to dominate and become the biggest influencers on the site. There is some really egregious harassment that some accounts are allowed to inflict on others, which leads to the usual cult of personality formation that social media sites suffer from. And the biggest personality in the cult is the CEO who seems blinded by ego over his creation that he cannot see his own parallels with “The Emperor’s New Clothes” or even Elon Musk. Spoutible needs some basic moderation if it wants to continue to claim to be a safe haven for marginalized groups, especially when those groups battle one another for site domination. It’s another failed attempt at social media to enrich lives and another case study in human behavior for academics.
  • The social experience here can be likened to a hard-left echo chamber. With a limited number of users, the same posts appear over and over and over. And if your religious or political views don’t mesh with those of the community, make no mistake about it: these “Spoutonians” AREN’T EVEN CLOSE to the warm, welcoming committee they profess to be.
  • I think it's because we're growing slowly. But it might be a good thing.
  • I don't dislike anything. I'm hoping we'll get a Lists feature so I can organize the people I follow into different feeds.
