Simufact Welding is a modular product line, which offers comprehensive functionality for modeling the elastic-plastic behavior of materials and structural welding simulation. The software covers different welding processes. Simufact Welding is designed for modeling and simulation of a wide range of thermal joining processes by means of structural welding simulation including usual arc and beam welding processes as well as brazing. Additionally, Simufact Welding provides possibilities to model heat treatment processes, variations of cooling and unclamping setups as well as mechanical loading of welded structures. Identify critical distortions, i.e. with respect to assembly, bulging, imbalances, and clearances. Investigate and optimize clamping tools even before an investment in tools has been made. Identify optimal welding directions and welding sequences.

T*SOL is the simulation program with which you can calculate the yield of a thermal solar system. No matter whether for domestic water heating, heating support, swimming pools or process heat, with T*SOL you can optimally design your planned solar thermal system, dimension storage and collector arrays (also east / west roofs) and determine the economic efficiency. At the start of the design process, you have a large selection of all relevant systems for domestic hot water heating and heating support, as well as for swimming pools and process heat. During the design, you will be supported with dimensioning suggestions and can use a parameter variation to find the optimal combination, e.g. of storage size and collector area. The parameters of the simulation results such as energies, temperatures or volumes can be displayed graphically. You can choose between different display formats such as bar charts and line graphs. The time axis can be varied between a day and up to a year.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Easy to use GUI, the workflow of usage is straight forward; you can model the welding beads as your drawing with few clicks. Computation time is very acceptable, it has simplified model to accomplish the industrial time. Includes Python API, so it allows you to create your own scripts. It has a plugin for Welding Sequence Optimization that minimizes the inherent deformation, residual stress, GD&T, or region.

Cons

  • 1)The language of the shopfloor engineers is at the end the GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) still lack of functions to evaluate and model based on that. 2) Welding symbology is very important for industry and it would be better if it allows to specify this callout.
