About

Port is an open AI software Factory platform designed for engineering organizations to build, govern, and operate the AI-SDLC. The company’s platform maps services, tools, and standards into a context layer, connects any coding agent through an auto-discovered registry of agents, skills, and MCP servers, and assembles end-to-end factory lines such as idea-to-production, self-healing incidents, and auto-patching CVEs. Risk-based human-in-the-loop review, granular permissions, audit logs, and per-team costs keeps agents governed across every line, while ROI and quality measures self-improve the factory and give leadership factory-wide visibility. This lets teams ship at higher velocity and lower cost without losing control.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • We spent quite some time looking for an internal developer portal, part of our platform engineering efforts, setting up new patterns and getting software delivery faster. This was by far the most advanced technologically and fit our needs since it can easily create a service catalog for K8s.
  • We chose this tool to provide developer self-service to our developers - we needed to both reduce the amount of tools the developers need to use and also to reduce developer error and waiting times for devops and SREs to service tickets. This is already a huge difference, with developers setting up ephemeral environments and asking for temporary permissions to resources.
  • This developer portal solution is a fantastic tool for managing and organizing all of our API documentation. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple for our developers to find the information they need. The ability to customize the layout and branding of the portal is also a huge plus. Overall, this developer portal solution has greatly improved our team's efficiency and productivity. Highly recommend it to any organization in need of a robust API documentation management solution.

Cons

  • Needed to write more Jsons than we planned to, actually submitted a feature request to change this.
  • Some features we’ve asked for, like customized scorecards are still in the roadmap.
  • One minor con is that the search function could be improved to include more advanced filtering options.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Typo is a game-changer for dev teams. I loved how easy it was to set up and immediately see insights. The dashboard is clean and gives all the important metrics at a glance, from team productivity to delivery bottlenecks. Features like AI-powered code analysis and the sprint view really helped us identify blockers and speed up processes. It also integrates smoothly with tools we were already using, so no extra hassle.
  • The integration process with Typo is straightforward, and the availability of a free tier is appealing. The Typo platform has been instrumental in addressing our challenge of prolonged review and merging times for pull requests. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive overview of the developers’ work continuity, enabling better tracking and management of ongoing tasks.
  • The correlation between JIRA & Github has been super helpful for me. I can objectively track the progress on each task & proactively identify the tasks prone to getting delayed.
  • What really impressed us about Typo is their holistic approach to combining performance and wellbeing metrics. By doing so, they have enabled us to focus on the metrics that truly matter and start driving continuous improvement through goals. It’s amazing how Typo brings together insights and actionable steps in a single platform. Plus, the Slack alerts are bang on!
  • Our tech tool stack integrated seamlessly, and within 10 minutes, we had our first tech insights. The real-time visibility of all software development lifecycle (SDLC) metrics, including DORA, efficiency, pull request analysis, utilization reports, and more, is truly impressive. What we appreciate most is the ability to view these metrics across different team levels, which helps us prioritize areas that can have an immediate high impact. Plus, the UI is intuitive and easy to use.

Cons

  • There’s a slight learning curve if you’re new to engineering metrics, but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing. It’s definitely well-tailored for engineering teams.
  • So far so good. If there is any requirement the typo team is highly responsive towards it, so nothing to dislike.
  • My experience while using typo has been smooth so far so nothing to dislike. I would appreciate more customizations on how to track Github activities.
  • Nothing so far. My requests have been accepted as part of their roadmap so all good!
  • It has been more than 3 months since we started using it, and the only thing we crave for is more customization options. However, we appreciate the support of the typo team in fulfilling most of our requests. :)
