Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • As an independent professional, I rely on PayPal as my primary gateway for receiving cross-border payments from international clients. The platform's automated withdrawal system to local Indian bank account is incredibly efficient, ensuring that my business cash flow remains consistent. Its robust security and KYC protocols provide the peace of mind necessary for managing high-value global transactions.
  • PayPal is a safe and convenient online payment method that offers many benefits. Here are some of the benefits of PayPal: 1. Security: PayPal uses advanced encryption technology to protect payment information to ensure secure online transactions. 2. Speed: PayPal facilitates online payments by allowing users to pay quickly and easily. 3. Accessibility: PayPal is available in many countries around the world and is accepted by many online merchants. 4. Buyer protection: PayPal provides buyer protection that allows consumers to be reimbursed for fraudulent transactions. 5. No transaction fees: PayPal does not charge fees for transactions between PayPal accounts, allowing users to transfer money easily and at no additional cost.
  • I like how quick and accessible it is I’ve been using it for a long time now, it’s good, I also like how I don’t have to remember card numbers.
  • I like its worldwide acceptance and its ability to get different currency into one local currency and that into associated bank account.
  • Convenient to use. You can pay and receive money from anywhere in the world. Financing is also good.

Cons

  • The main drawback is the currency conversion rat, which is often less competitive than mid-market rates for international transfers. Furthermore, while security is a plus, the occasional 24-hour hold on funds can be challenge when managing immediate operational expenses for a small business.
  • Some of the disadvantages of PayPal are: 1. High fees: PayPal often charges higher fees than other online payment options available. 2. Account Freezing Option: PayPal may freeze your account if you make a transaction that may constitute fraud or if you use the service inappropriately. 3. Processing delays: Technical or security issues can sometimes lead to delays in processing payments and refunds. 4. Foreign exchange charges: If you make international payments with PayPal, you may have to pay additional foreign exchange charges. 5. Transaction limits: PayPal may place limits on the amount of money you can send or receive. 6. Potential loss of buyer protection: If you make a payment outside of PayPal, you may lose the buyer protection offered by PayPal.
  • I didn’t have any dislikes really except I don’t really like having to put my email in every time I wish it was only the password.
  • It cuts slightly high tax otherwise nothing to complain about.
  • I changed my account now, but my account was hacked once. Fortunately, there was no financial damage because I did not put any account information, but it was almost a disaster. After that, the safety device that goes through several steps is rather reassuring.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Good at what it does, fairly easy to set up and offers a lot of flexible customization features for bringing people into your financial apps.
  • I have dabbled in the business side of plaid but as a customer it was easy to use. This review is more for businesses to hear what a customer thinks. I like how this works with cards. It's nice to be able to trust where you are putting your card info.
  • PLAID is quick and easy to use when connecting your bank accounts. Support response time is quick and efficient, something solutions are not found immediately though.
  • Plaid was able to integrate banks that were not currently available. The time frame was six months but the integration process happened in three months. That was great as we can offer our services to more customers. Plaid has the vast majority of major banks, not so much smaller banks and credit unions.
  • I'm a huge fan of how easy Plaid's API makes it to enable connecting different payment sources from different banks. The user logs in with the same online banking credentials they normally do, and the data stays where it's supposed to.

Cons

  • Not a lot to hate about Plaid, I think the pricing can start to creep up if you have lots of users connecting their banks.
  • Nothing major. Have had issues with Discover not being accepted randomly until try 3.
  • The back-end for companies could use some work it is very confusing. Submitting tickets are confusing and difficult. It is near impossible to get a ticket entered without having to deep dive into the transactions and finding request codes.
  • There is no search option on their website to see if the bank institution is available through plaid. This would make it easier to let customers know right away instead of creating a fake application and searching on a live application.
  • Nothing, really. From a user experience perspective Plaid's doesn't leave much to be desired.
