About

Network Configuration Manager is a multi-vendor network change, configuration and compliance management (NCCM) solution for switches, routers, firewalls and other network devices. NCM helps automate and take total control of the entire life cycle of device configuration management. Schedule device configuration backups, track user activity and spot changes by comparing configuration versions all from a centralized web GUI. Monitor configuration changes, get instant notifications and prevent unauthorized changes to make your networking environment secure, stable and compliant. Define standard practices and policies, check device configurations for violations and readily apply remedial measures to ensure device compliance. Save time by automating repetitive, time-consuming configuration management tasks and also by centrally applying configuration changes to devices in bulk.

About

TriOSS is a GPON automation solution to perform user’s creation and service provisioning instantly, in FTTH networks. It saves operational costs in terms of technical man-hours, increases efficiency and drastically reduces provisioning and fault identification time, thus improving quality of service and customer experience. TriOSS acts as a black box that connects with the NMS (Network Management System) to perform its functions on both OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and ONT (Optical Network Terminal). Automated ONT configuration and service provisioning is available in real time as well as one-click configuration method. There are multiple options for Customer data management pertaining to a billing mechanism. You can choose from day-wise or time-dependent crones for implementation of all related functionalities.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager offers centralized configuration management for routers, switches, and firewalls with automated backups, real-time change detection, and quick rollback options to reduce downtime. It supports multi-vendor devices, enables bulk configuration changes through automation, and provides compliance auditing with detailed reports for security and regulatory standards. Overall, it improves network reliability, security, and administrative efficiency.
  • Automated configuration backups — Helps regularly back up network device configurations and reduce the risk of configuration loss. Multi-vendor support — Works with a wide range of network devices from different vendors. Configuration change tracking — Makes it easier to identify who changed a configuration, what was changed, and when. Network automation — Automates repetitive configuration and administrative tasks, saving time for network teams. Compliance management — Helps organizations monitor configurations against predefined compliance policies. Configuration rollback — Allows administrators to restore previous configurations when changes cause problems. Centralized management — Provides a single platform for managing configurations across multiple network devices. Useful reporting — Offers reports and visibility that can help with troubleshooting, auditing, and compliance.
  • You will be able to patch your network devices, you can run different regulatory checks and compliance checks on your running configurations, and you can stay alerted to any minor or major known or unknown configuration changes on your network equipment. on top of that, it will enable you to take backups of your configurations and version comparisons configurations.
  • Automated Configuration Backups: It automatically backs up running-config and startup-config across all your switches, routers, and firewalls on a set schedule. If a device dies or gets misconfigured, you can restore the last known stable baseline in two clicks. Side-by-Side "Diff" Change Tracking: The moment someone logs into a core switch and changes a line of code, NCM captures the change and alerts you. It highlights exact additions and deletions side-by-side (green vs. red), making post-incident root-cause analysis extremely fast. Bulk Config Changes (Configures): Pushing a global change—like updating TACACS/RADIUS passwords, SNMP strings, or NTP server IPs across 200 switches—can be done simultaneously using template scripts (Configures) instead of manually SSH into every box.
  • Its very use full to have the clear information that what it's happening on the network and the Switch what load that is there on time to time we have great information that help us to know what is going on the network.

Cons

  • The TFTP/SCP transfer can be finicky on older hardware, often timing out during large backups. Also, the compliance reports are a bit rigid; trying to build custom regex rules is quite a headache.
  • Steep learning curve — New users may need time to understand the platform and configure it effectively. Interface can feel complex — The large number of features and settings can make navigation less intuitive for beginners. Initial setup requires effort — Deploying the solution and configuring devices, credentials, and automation workflows can take time. Resource requirements — Larger environments may require careful planning of server resources and database configuration. Advanced features may require additional configuration — Getting the most out of automation, compliance, and workflow capabilities can require technical expertise. Pricing can become significant — Costs may increase as the number of managed devices and required capabilities grows. Some customization can be complicated — Organizations with highly specific network-management requirements may need additional configuration or scripting.
  • The only con of having this tool is it will make your network engineer's life easy. You will not get a chance to tell them that you are not doing your work properly or according to regulatory requirements.
  • Alert Noise: Out of the box, syslog and change notifications can flood your inbox. You have to spend time fine-tuning alert filters so you aren't spammed every time an automated system script runs on a router. Database & Performance Overhead in Very Large Environments: If you are backing up thousands of devices frequently, the local database (especially if using bundled PostgreSQL) can grow massive quickly, causing occasional dashboard sluggishness unless properly tuned on dedicated hardware.
  • I don't have any Cons as of now. one thing the price of the application is bit high.
