About

Navicat Monitor is a safe, simple and agentless remote server monitoring tool that is packed with powerful features to make your monitoring effective as possible. Monitored servers include MySQL, MariaDB and SQL Server, and compatible with cloud databases like Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Navicat Monitor includes a rich set of real-time and historical graphs that allow you to drill down into server statistic details. It gives you a detailed view of each server load and performance regarding its availability, disk usage, network I/O, table locks and more, which allows you to easily track the deviations and traffic among servers, as well as examine possible solutions and adjust your server settings. Collect metrics of multiple instances on the same chart to compare and analyze data at incredible speed. You can also save your chart as a high-quality PDF document with one click.

About

HeatWave is a massively parallel, high performance, in-memory query accelerator for Oracle MySQL Database Service that accelerates MySQL performance by orders of magnitude for analytics and mixed workloads. HeatWave is 6.5X faster than Amazon Redshift at half the cost, 7X faster than Snowflake at one-fifth the cost, and 1400X faster than Amazon Aurora at half the cost. MySQL Database Service with HeatWave is the only service that enables customers to run OLTP and OLAP workloads directly from their MySQL database. This eliminates the need for complex, time-consuming, and expensive data movement and integration with a separate analytics database. The new MySQL Autopilot uses advanced machine-learning techniques to automate HeatWave, which make it easier to use and further improves performance and scalability. HeatWave is optimized for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • One of the best features of Navicat Monitor is that it employs an agent-less architecture. It monitors database instances over a SSH/SNMP connection so you don't have to install any software on the database server(s). I can access my server stats from anywhere using a web browser, which means that I keep track of my servers from anywhere, any time. In version 2, they added a few new features that I really like, including dark theme and a new migration tool that outputs a zip file with all required configuration files and settings for migration my instance to another server.

Cons

  • You need to purchase a subscription token for each server instance. This can be either a good or bad thing, depending on how many instances you need to keep tabs on.
