Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • 1. It can be easily integrated with various development environments. 2. It is not heavy on the CPU. Furthermore, it is available on all the operating systems, such as- Windows, Linux and, macOS. 3. The operation time is low, and the processes happens very quickly.
  • - The best feature about MySQL that makes it most appealing to the beginners is how easy it is to install, set up and get started with it. - It supports integration with almost all the major IDEs like VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA. - The queries used are simple and readable in layman language. - Multiple databases can be connected at once, so the user can work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • - MySQL performs fast in every scenario and provide effective services. - It can store relational data and managing it in future is effortless. - It provides a robust security to the databases.
  • 1. It can be easily integrated with numerous development tools, programming languages and environments. 2. It is very efficient to use and does not take up a lot of CPU power to run. Furthermore, it can be easily used between teams working on a large project. 3. It is an open source software, hence, free to use under GNU license.
  • According to my real life experience, Always feel MySQL is one of the best platform for data management (Create, Update, Retrieve and Delete operations for DB, tables and related things). Some key features: - Cross-platform support for different operating systems. - MySQL is easy to use. - Quick management. - Offers a customizable interface so that one cannot get stuck. - Efficient use of resources at the memory. - A high-speed transactional processing system. - Storing relational data. - Easy integration with development tools and environments. - Connection with different programming languages.

Cons

  • 1. The user has to know the SQL queries in order to use the tool.
  • - The software crashes occasionally but luckily because of auto save feature no data gets lost. - It is the best tool for small databases, but when it comes to large databases, it is not the ideal option because of its limitations.
  • - User Interface and layout is confusing for beginners.
  • 1. There is a high learning curve while learning to use this initially.
  • I faced few issues with performance but now resolved with updated version. No Cons!

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • This tool offers automatic provisioning of nodes thanks to the Incremental Snapshot Transfer functionality that allows saving the last transactions so that when a node is left out of the cluster and rejoins some time later, it will synchronize with the rest of the nodes, reading the pending transactions. A cluster configured with Percona XtraDB Cluster allows the inclusion of three or more servers in a single logical structure where all have all the data and the same reading and writing capacities. These clusters ensure that a query can be resolved by any of the servers without the need for remote access, and in the event that a node fails, the cluster will continue to operate in high availability.
  • Migrating to PXC 5.7 helped fix our performance issues as previously our production environment could not handle the traffic at our peaks. Since moving to PXC, our environments are performing much better.
  • It has the ability to be powerful in configuration options. Great solutions for HA setups in MySQL Percona XtraDB Cluster and the company behind it outperform the industry.
  • Open Source, One of the best reasons for using Percona XtraDB Cluster.
  • Percona XtraDB Cluster is a one stop solution for all RDBMS with its High Availability and SST feature.

Cons

  • The replication of the information of the nodes sometimes does not get to have a good performance since the update is carried out synchronously. This means that the update time of a node may be higher than in the other nodes.
  • The overall system is a little more complicated to manage than our previous environment.
  • Nothing in the cons works really well for me. Great application.
  • Documentation can be a little better if aimed towards beginners.
  • Need to improvise in handling bulk update and delete transactions.
