About

MacDuty rents dedicated Mac mini servers from its own racks in Romania, inside the EU. Every machine is bare metal and assigned to one customer: no virtual machines, no shared hardware. The fleet covers every Apple silicon generation from the M1 to the 2026 M6 and M5 Pro, in 84 configurations. Machines arrive with a clean macOS install, reachable over SSH and screen sharing in minutes, with a public IPv4 and IPv6. Billing is by the day, the month or the year, with no setup fee and no minimum term beyond the 24 hours Apple imposes on everyone. Paying yearly takes 20% off. Power is unmetered, 10 TB of traffic included. From the client area you restart the machine, reset its password, manage SSH keys and reinstall macOS yourself. Nothing is locked down: your own Apple account, your own backups. Failed hardware is replaced the same day. Typical uses: CI runners for Xcode and GitHub Actions, always-on dev machines reached from Windows or Linux, local language models, AI agents.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Very responsive sales team and support teams. Always ready to help and suggest improvements. Help a lot with local procurement of components and customs clearance for components purchased outside.
  • I like the Maxihost Hosting overall. The team created a great process from the first configuration steps to level when it comes to scaling your servers no matter where and the quantity. It is pleasure to work with the team who are focused on the highest level of service in each step ( servers delivery, configuration, support, payments)
  • Easy and quick deploys of a limited set of ever-evolving specifications. Latest (or nearly) generation hardware. Willing to deploy custom specifications. Fast support. Value bandwidth costs. Flexible to needs.
  • Super Fast and informative support team, Let's be real issues happen but when they do Maxihost is there to help. Reach out and they will get right on it giving continuous updates until the issue is resolved. Modern Panel that has all the features and info you need, no looking around 100 different tabs in 5 different portals that look like they were last updated in 2001. Feature Rich API, everything is in there and documented.
  • * instant delivery of preconfigured services * custom solutions available on request * very responsive support

Cons

  • We experienced 2 outages in this DC: 1 related to power loose, the second one to badly planned uplinks change. Uptime is these months was really bad, but good thing that Maxihost team made everything to get infrastructure online back as soon as possible.
  • I would add more EU (NL, DE, FR, and other high demanded countries).
  • Change dashboard/panel too much and release it incomplete. API is missing billing endpoints so you can't automate accounting. You can't easily find the price charged for an individual service. Struggle to recreate custom deploys if a new deploy has not been done for a few weeks. Can sometimes "downgrade" the overall specification when releasing new generations of hardware, leaving you no specification to move onto with new orders.
  • More Locations would be nice, Whilst Maxihost offers some nice exotic locations like SÃO PAULO and SANTIAGO having some Europe options would be useful. More Hardware variants Would love to see some Ryzen CPUs.
  • * complex network layout not automated * some regions in South America have high latency to Sao Paulo
