About

With its powerful tools and dazzling effects, Keynote makes it easy to create stunning and memorable presentations, and comes included with most Apple devices. Use Apple Pencil on your iPad to create diagrams or illustrations that bring your slides to life. And with real‑time collaboration, your team can work together, whether they’re on Mac, iPad, iPhone, or using a PC. Keynote sets the stage for an impressive presentation. A simple, intuitive interface puts important tools front and center, so everyone on your team can easily add beautiful charts, edit photos, and incorporate cinematic effects. And Rehearse Mode lets you practice on the go, with the current or next slide, notes, and clock — all in one view. Choose from over 700 Apple-designed shapes, galleries, math equations, and charts. Take a photo or scan a document with your iPhone, and Continuity Camera can send it straight to Keynote on your Mac.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • - It is user-friendly and simple to use and create attractive presentations. - It runs seamlessly across all the Apple devices. - The user interface of the application is rich and intuitive. - It helps in creating planners, presentations and slideshows as well.
  • I love that images are really easy to work with in Keynote... the default templates are nice. Seems to run smoother than powerpoint (on Mac).
  • Apple Keynote is a great tool for presentation slides! It is easy to use and looks fantastic! It also converts easily into other file types.

Cons

  • - It is a simple-to-use application with all the necessary features. It runs smoothly on all the Apple devices. No cons in my usage.
  • Many folks want a PowerPoint when doing a guest presentation, and converting to a PowerPoint template requires some clean up.
  • I'd love to see an initial tutorial from Apple on how to use this. Would have been helpful.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • There are consistent updates to the software that have made it better than ever. There are new designs, and my personal favorite, live language translation while you present! They are certainly working to keep PowerPoint competitive with similar products, and are really making it work.
  • More recent versions of Microsoft's PowerPoint have ultimately proven to be a very useful presentation tool for projects. In a recent graduate level group project I lead, we utilized MS PowerPoint's online coordination abilities to work be able to work on the presentation simultaneously. This ability was amazing while we were closing the project out and preparing the final presentation as while we were holding the wrap up meeting in Skype we were able to all make edits and review the presentation on the same copy.
  • PowerPoint has incrementally improved over the years, and has more features than I have time or patience to explore...it gets the job done well.
  • PowerPoint is easy to use, powerful, and professional for building presentations. The templates and see m designs are nice too.
  • Ease of use, features, design and support are unparalleled. There are very few apps like MS PPT. Updated support for local languages makes life better.

Cons

  • I wish there was easier cloud storage or collaborative editing through PowerPoint, but this is easily achieved by pairing it with other softwares like Box.
  • My main complaint with PowerPoint is that the user interface in more recent versions is a bit more confusing and less user friendly than older versions.
  • Images aren't as easy to work with in PowerPoint as they are in keynote. Design in general in keynote seems to have a better 'feel'.
  • It doesn't have quite the flash as Apple's presentation builder, which seems more modern, but it does the job.
  • Nothing much to hate in PPT. It is the standard for delivering presentations.
