About

Proton Pass for Business is a secure, end-to-end encrypted password manager built for teams that prioritize privacy, compliance, and control. Safely store and share passwords, passkeys, secure notes, aliases, and credit card details with zero-knowledge encryption, ensuring only your organization can access sensitive data. Manage user access with advanced admin controls, activity logs, and enforced password policies, and simplify onboarding and offboarding with secure vault sharing. Created by the team behind Proton Mail, Proton Pass integrates seamlessly across browsers and devices, offering autofill, password generation, email alias management, and dark web monitoring. With Swiss-based privacy, open-source transparency, and strong end-to-end encryption, Proton Pass for Business helps organizations reduce risk, prevent data breaches, ensure compliance, and boost team productivity without compromising security or user experience.

Why Keeper Security is Better than Proton Pass

Keeper Security is a better fit than Proton Pass for organizations that need password management with enterprise-scale access governance and privileged-access expansion. Keeper Enterprise adds Active Directory/LDAP synchronization, SCIM provisioning, SAML SSO, role-based access control, delegated administration, developer APIs, policy enforcement, security audits and activity reporting; it also offers time-limited external credential sharing and supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android and browser-based access. For teams managing infrastructure as well as employee credentials, Keeper can extend into secrets management, password rotation, session management and zero-trust access through its KeeperPAM platform. Proton Pass provides passkeys, secure sharing, email aliases, SSO and SCIM, but Keeper offers a broader path for centralized identity integration, compliance-oriented administration and privileged-access workflows.

Why Proton Pass is Better than Keeper Security

Proton Pass is a stronger choice for individuals seeking meaningful functionality without an immediate upgrade: its free plan includes unlimited logins, notes, credit cards and devices, browser/mobile/desktop access, passkey support, password-health alerts, and 10 hide-my-email aliases. By comparison, Keeper Free is restricted to 10 password or passkey records on one mobile device and excludes syncing, browser-extension access, autofill and sharing. Proton Pass also combines encrypted password management with built-in email aliases that conceal a user’s real address when signing up for services, while its paid tiers add unlimited aliases, integrated 2FA codes, secure item and vault sharing, dark-web monitoring, emergency access and a CLI. Both products offer zero-knowledge encryption, passkeys, and apps for major desktop and mobile platforms, but Proton Pass provides substantially broader free everyday use plus privacy-focused identity protection.

  • We've been using Proton Pass for Business across our organization, and it's been a game-changer for how we manage credentials and sensitive data. From day one, the onboarding process was smooth, and the intuitive interface made it easy for our team to adopt with minimal training. What really sets Proton Pass apart is its commitment to privacy and security—built on the same foundation of trust that Proton is known for. End-to-end encryption ensures that only our team has access to our data, and the zero-access architecture gives us peace of mind that even Proton can’t see our stored information. The team management features are excellent: we can easily control access levels, manage permissions, and monitor usage across the organization. This level of administrative control is essential for compliance and internal security audits. Integration with other Proton services, like Proton Mail and Proton Drive, creates a powerful ecosystem for secure collaboration.
