About

KS DB Merge Tools is an easy to use diff & merge tool for MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MS Access and Cross-DBMS databases allowing to compare and sync both schema and data. Starting with a schema changes summary, results can be narrowed down to object lists of particular object type (table definitions, views, etc.), and then down to definition of particular object. Data changes can be retrieved as a high-level list of changes totals across all tables in the database, each total row count can be observed as a side-by-side list of rows for the given table, each changed row can be analyzed for changes in each column. Various diff results provide quick filters to show only new/changed/new+changed items (schema objects or table data rows), ability to select required changed items and generate scripts to apply these changes to the other side database. This script can be executed immediately or saved for future use.

About

It's free of charge for everybody, for any purpose (including commercial). It's safe, as anyone can review the source code. The SQL Editor window assists users with SQL syntax hints & highlighting, provides pretty-print code for matter, marks syntax errors. You can Ctrl+click on table mentioned in SQL query to open that table (or index, or trigger, or view). You can execute SQL statements that refer to multiple databases within a single query, thanks to a transparent database attaching mechanism built into the SQL Editor of SQLiteStudio. You can implement your own collation sequences (i.e. algorithms for comparing 2 values, that could be used in ORDER BY clause, etc). There is a portable distribution, no need to install it just download the package, decompress and run and no administrator rights are required.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • * Incredibly easy to use. * Reliable table structure comparison (both ways). * Seamless table data comparison (both ways).
  • It makes it easy for me to compare data structures and, if necessary, generate and execute change scripts. It is also possible to transfer the data itself, and I love the various options available for this.
  • Easy to use, intuitive UI. There are many options available for deciding what Access objects you'd like to compare. Also was easy to merge changes from one DB into the other. There are also a whole slew of reports available, which I haven't explored in depth yet, but will.
  • AccdbMerge is the only module I know of that allows efficient comparison of accdb files for programming. Especially in combination with version control systems like GitHub, the tool enables efficient work. It is also highly customizable. In addition, Konstantin provides perfect and immediate support. Best regards, thanks
  • Great functionality for comparing and syncing MySQL table structures. Support for multi-table diff and merge with foreign key sorting. Frequent updates, developer reacts fast to feedback.

Cons

  • It is already a 5-star tool, though I’d love to see regex table filtering, saved filter presets, and custom key selection in a future build. Adding these would perfect an already excellent workflow.
  • An automatic software update would be very welcome.
  • The only con I have at the moment is that I wish I'd known about this useful tool sooner.
  • N/A
  • Not all table options are supported yet (e.g. storage settings).
