About

ImgSeek is a desktop reverse-image-search application for finding visually similar pictures in local folders from a reference image. It compares image content rather than relying on filenames or tags, and can search a whole picture or a selected subject area. The app also indexes images embedded in PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, then identifies the source document and, where available, the page or slide. Indexing and searching run on the computer; online access is used for license activation and update checks. The native Mac version supports Apple Silicon, while the Windows version supports 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. A 14-day trial unlocks all features on one device. Afterward, the app continues as a free version for libraries of up to 3,000 images, with previously indexed results still searchable; a perpetual license removes the limit. ImgSeek is unrelated to imgSeek, the open-source SourceForge project from 2006–2013; the two only share a name.

About

Livegrep is a tool, partially inspired by Google Code Search, for interactive regex search of ~gigabyte-scale source repositories. To run livegrep, you need to invoke both the codesearch backend index/search process, and the livegrep web interface. To run the sample web interface over livegrep itself, once you have built both codesearch and livegrep. The codesearch binary is responsible for reading source code, maintaining an index, and handling searches. livegrep is stateless and relies only on the connection to codesearch over a TCP connection. By default, codesearch will build an in-memory index over the repositories specified in its configuration file. You can, however, also instruct it to save the index to a file on disk. This has the dual advantages of allowing indexes that are too large to fit in RAM, and of allowing an index file to be reused.
