About

ImageMagick® is a free and open-source software suite for displaying, converting, and editing raster image and vector image files. It can read and write over 200 image file formats, and can support a wide range of image manipulation operations, such as resizing, cropping, and color correction. ImageMagick is written in C and is available for a wide range of operating systems, including Linux, macOS, and Windows. It can be used as a standalone application, or as a library that can be integrated into other software programs. One of the key features of ImageMagick is its support for scripting and automation. This allows users to create complex image manipulation pipelines that can be run automatically, without the need for manual intervention. This can be especially useful for tasks that require the processing of large numbers of images, or for tasks that need to be performed on a regular basis.

About

imgproxy – the fastest, most flexible image processing server! imgproxy is a high-performance, secure, and open-source image processing server that gives you full control over your media pipeline. Whether you’re looking for a faster alternative to existing open-source tools, moving away from an expensive SaaS solution, or replacing a costly in-house system, imgproxy is built to handle all your image processing needs. Unlike SaaS solutions, imgproxy runs on your infrastructure, eliminating vendor lock-in and reducing cloud costs. Compared to other open-source alternatives, it is significantly faster, more secure, and easier to scale. And unlike custom-built in-house solutions, imgproxy requires no ongoing development or maintenance, saving engineering resources while delivering enterprise-grade performance. For businesses that need even more power, imgproxy Pro offers additional features, enhanced image quality, and advanced security options.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Everything you figured out how to do once, you can automate and do again in a fraction of a second.

Cons

  • You will have a hard time if you need to select areas within the image you are editing, as it is a command line tool that only has a not very usable hidden GUI.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • We needed a fast and stable solution to optimise large quantities of images on our infrastructure. ImgProxy offers a very easy-to-install solution based on open source with a large feature set. The support team provided us with prompt assistance right from the start, and we were able to roll it out in no time. The pricing for the Pro version is also reasonable.
