About

Geany is a powerful, stable and lightweight programmer's text editor that provides tons of useful features without bogging down your workflow. It runs on Linux, Windows and MacOS is translated into over 40 languages, and has built-in support for more than 50 programming languages. One the primary reasons for Geany's existence is that there is a need for a decent, GUI, lightweight, cross-platform, flexible and powerful IDE/editor. Many editors meet one or more of these requirements but fall short on others. Using the GPL v2 license, Geany assures that not only can you customize and hack it, but that everyone benefits from changes the community makes. Many parts of Geany are heavily customizable like color themes (Geany Themes) or adding new filetypes. Furthermore, Geany provides many settings to let you adjust it to your needs and preferences. Many supported filetypes including popular programming languages like C, Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, etc.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Block editing, macros, plugins, highly configurable. once you explore all the capabilities, you may change your editing habits. It's for free!

Cons

  • Takes a while, to learn all the features, but it's worth it. Actually, I do not miss any editing features for my daily work.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I’ve been using Toolaska JSON Tool for a while, and it has become one of my go-to utilities whenever I need to work with JSON. The interface is clean, lightweight, and fast — no unnecessary clutter. What I like the most: Format & Beautify: Makes even the messiest JSON instantly readable. Minify: Perfect for compressing before pushing to production. Validate: Quickly catches mistakes in JSON structure. Convert JSON ↔ CSV / XML / YAML: Saves a ton of time when working across formats. Escape / Unescape: Very useful for preparing JSON for APIs. Sort Keys: Keeps my files consistent and easier to manage. Download / Copy: No hassle in exporting results. Save Recent JSON: It remembers my last 10 JSON files locally, which is super handy when switching between tasks. The fact that it’s free, ad-free, and doesn’t require login makes it even better. Everything runs directly in the browser, so it’s quick and private.

Cons

  • Limited to JSON-related tasks → It doesn’t support other data formats (like TOML, INI, etc.) that some developers might use. No collaboration features → Everything is local, so you can’t share JSON edits or sessions directly with teammates. Local-only storage → The “recent JSON” feature only works in the same browser/device (no cloud sync). Basic UI → Very clean and minimal, but may feel too simple compared to full IDE plugins or desktop apps. No advanced JSON querying → Lacks features like JMESPath/JSONPath querying for deep data manipulation. Offline use → Needs an internet connection since it’s a web app (unless cached in browser).
