About

FolioSort reads the EXIF data embedded in every photo or video and automatically moves files into a folder structure you define — by date, camera model, GPS city, lens, ISO or any combination. Key features: • Smart Folder Templates — use tokens like {YYYY}, {MM}, {Camera}, {City} to build any folder hierarchy automatically • GPS Reverse Geocoding — reads GPS coordinates and resolves them to city and country folder names using Apple's CLGeocoder. No API keys needed. • Regex Mass Rename — find and replace with capture groups, 7 naming patterns and live preview • Events — define time blocks (e.g. "Ceremony: 14:00–15:30") and route every photo from every camera into the right folder by EXIF timestamp. Built for wedding, sports and event photographers. • Integrity Verification — every transfer verified with XXHash64 or SHA-256 checksums • Full Undo • Cloud & NAS Support • Google Photos Takeout • Unlimited files, RAW formats and cinema RAW (Blackmagic BRAW, RED R3D, ARRI)

About

Fotoxx is a free open source Linux program for image editing and collection management. The goal is to meet the needs of serious photographers while remaining fast and easy to use. Navigate a large image collection using a thumbnail browser, click on an image to view or edit. A rich set of edit and retouch functions is available. Import RAW files and edit with deep color. Save revised images as JPEG, PNG (8/16 bits/color), or TIFF (8/16). Select an object or area within an image (freehand draw, follow edges, flood matching tones), apply edit functions, copy and paste, resize, blend, warp, etc. without using layers. Edit functions have fast feedback using the full image. Edit image metadata (tags, geotags, dates, ratings, captions). Search images using any combination of metadata and file and folder names or partial names. Click a marker on a scalable world map to view all photos from that location.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • FolioSort’s AI scans what’s in my photos, so I can find images for social media by searching in plain English, such as “people on the beach”. It saves me tagging thousands of photos by hand. I’ve also tried sorting a large folder into year, month and day folders, which worked well. For the price, it’s excellent.

Cons

  • Nothing significant so far. I hit a small bug shortly after buying it, but my message was replied to within the hour and the issue was sorted quickly. Can't ask for more than that :)

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Functionally latest version seems as good as before in this latest version, but why make it harder to use?

Cons

  • Why did they change to monochrome icons on the menu? It really makes it harder to use for those of us who are occasional users.
