Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • At this point, dropbox is one of the few apps I rely on regularly for both work and personal projects. Between work projects, personal files, and random documents I swear I'll organize someday, dropbox has become one of the apps I rely on the most. Most of my work involves sharing documents, project files, and folders with other people, and dropbox makes that process super easy. I like that I can save something on my laptop and access it later from my phone or another computer without having to email files to myself (which I used to do way more than I'd like to admit).
  • I’ve been using Dropbox mainly for storing and sharing documents with my team, and it works really well. The syncing across devices is smooth, and I never have to worry about losing files.
  • I like the automatic synchronization ensures that documents are always up to date on all devices. In addition, collaboration features such as document comments and shared folders facilitate teamwork and improve communication. Security is another advantage, with encryption and two-factor authentication options that protect our sensitive data.
  • Dropbox's security is a highlight. It uses encryption both in transit and at rest, which is crucial for protecting sensitive company data. The ability to set detailed file sharing permissions helps ensure that only authorized people can access critical information. In addition, integration with other productivity tools and platforms is a major benefit.
  • I use Dropbox regularly, and I find it super helpful for keeping my files safe and organized. It is easy to use, and I love how I can access my documents on any device, whether it is my phone, tablet, laptop or even through a web browser. The synchronization feature is great, and it ensures that my files are always up to date. The security is top notch too, with encryption that keeps my file very safe. I also love the fact that Dropbox integrates smoothly with other products like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, making collaboration more convenient without switching platforms. Another great feature is the offline access, which allows me to work on files even without Internet. Also, I can restore deleted files or access previous versions, which is a lifesaver when things go wrong.

Cons

  • The biggest downside is the limited storage on the free plan. If you work with large files like videos, high-resolution images, or project archives, you'll probably run out of space much faster than expected. The paid plans solve this issue, but they can feel a bit expensive compared to some competing cloud storage services. I've also noticed that syncing large folders can occasionally be slower than I'd like, especially when uploading a lot of files at once. Another minor frustration is that sharing permissions can sometimes be confusing, particularly when collaborating with multiple people on different folders and projects. While none of these issues are dealbreakers, they can occasionally interrupt an otherwise smooth experience.
  • Free storage is quite limited compared to other cloud services
  • One aspect that can be frustrating is permissions management, which is sometimes confusing and requires detailed attention to avoid access errors.
  • While security is generally good, the lack of full control over the storage infrastructure can be a concern for some companies that handle highly sensitive information.
  • One downside of Dropbox is that the free plan only gives you 2GB of storage, which can fill up fast, if you have a lot of files. Also, the platform's search feature is not the best as it can be tricky to find files based on specific details like size or type.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Google Drive is a pretty good system to be able to improve storage for both personal and business use. The main aspect that I liked about this platform is its connectivity with the Google account, this connectivity and synchronization is very important to be able to maintain a constant storage within this platform, because this synchronization allows you to share files in real time, between the devices that are linked to your Google account. In addition, each of the images, documents or files that you upload from your mobile device, you can see in real time when it is fully uploaded from your computer, this synchronization is immediate and very beneficial for all types of companies. Another thing that I liked about Google Drive is the way in which it allows me to edit all types of documents, without having to download them, in addition, it also allows me to view documents online, without having to download the documents, within my computer, this storage system has an integrated service to be able to view documents online, which is great, since you do not have an application to view documents, you just have to use this cloud service. Another feature that I must highlight is in relation to the prices that this platform handles, the price for hiring more storage space is relatively accessible and very cheap, compared to other cloud storage platforms, I consider that Google Drive has the most affordable prices on the market today, and it is completely secure cloud storage at a price that you will not find anywhere else.
  • It is a secure point of storage and you can block unauthorized access to your files. It has allowed easy sharing of the files , documents and create PDF or cluster your documents for easy access
  • The available space for files storage is limitless. It is affordable costs nothing and very secure in storing both files and documents. Has ability to convert your files into any formats needed either PDFs or any other.
  • Mostly I use Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Forms for my work and it's easy to share and store. Features are very easy to use.
  • Google Drive is one of the better Google apps. I have several device and use it to more files from one device to another. This app has so many important features. Easy to use and user friendly.

Cons

  • There are several things that can be improved within Google Drive, the main feature that I did not like is in relation to its general design, the design as a platform is quite simple and very basic for all users, in addition, there is no type of function or way to modify this design, either to change the colors of it or change the general interface of Google Drive, I would like the user interface to be able to be modified to the user's taste, in this way I will be able to use a cloud service, which allows me to modify the design depending on my comfort. Another thing that I did not like about Google Drive is that this platform forces the user to maintain an active and stable Internet connection. At all times, otherwise you will not be able to access any type of document or image stored within your system, in the cloud, this is quite negative, I would like the platform to save very small copies of each of the stored files, in this way each of those files can be accessed, without needing to maintain an active Internet connection, this would be quite good for users who have a poor Internet connection.
  • When too loaded it may get lagging but it doesn't stop it from functioning so that doesn't sound like a dislike whatsoever.
  • I have not encountered any dislike it's as simple as it looks.
  • I do not find anything that I dislike about Google Drive.
  • A great application became useless. When I upload a file from my device, I open drive on other devices and the file is not there. Sometimes it can't upload a single file or photo and it says it's uploading but never upload.
