About

Doclingo is an AI-powered professional document translation platform that supports uploads of PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, and other formats, translates into over 90 languages, and keeps the original layout intact. Users can select from multiple AI translation engines (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and DeepSeek), use OCR to recognize and translate text embedded in images and scanned documents, and access online editing tools, terminology glossaries, bilingual-comparison downloads, and highlight-to-translate interactive features. The system automatically restores complex formatting, including text, images, tables, and charts, so that the translated output mirrors the original design, and enterprise features include API access, batch processing, enterprise collaboration, and secure handling of documents with compliance to standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Can't say anything positive about the free version, clearly deigned badly to encourage users to pay for the subscription version.
  • I like the accuracy of the text to text, text to speech and the conversation mode. There is a lot of availability of the major languages and some minor languages. Conversation mode is wonderful and an easy experience.

Cons

  • The free version is pretty awful. It will only allow a very limited number of characters, insufficient to even translate a short news story. It is far from user friendly. It seems that Microsoft have tried to make it look unnecessarily fancy. Paste and copy are not obvious and the display shows minimal characters whilst typing. Even the feedback link doesn't work, taking you to their Q&A page instead. Does anybody at Microsoft even test these things?
  • Could have more availability for smaller languages would be great. The image to text translation can be great for some languages and okay for others.
